Possibility of recording second-order nonlinear susceptibility in commercial specially synthesized lead-silicate glasses was investigated. It was be found effective photoinduced SHG in glasses with lead content from 10 to 40 mol%. Optical waveguides by ion-exchange were made in this glasses.
ABSThACTPossibility of recording second-order nonlinear susceptibility in commercial andspecially synthesized lead-silicate glasses was investigated. It was be found effective photoinduced SHG in glasses with lead content from 10 to 40 mol%. Optical waveguides by ion-exchange were made in this glasses. Optimal content of Na2O in lead-silicate glasses for optical waveguides was found.Refractive index profiles were reconstructed by enhanced WKB-method using cubic splines.Propagation losses in all waveguides were less than 0.5 dB/cm.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
