This study aims at investigating the effect of process writing approach combined with video-based mobile learning on the writing skill of Indonesian learners of English as a foreign language (EFL) across their creativity levels. A quasiexperimental study was employed by involving 61 learners of Vocational High School learners in Indonesia. They were assigned into two groups: experimental and control. The treatment was conducted at 5 sessions, including the pre-test and post-test. The scores of pre-test and post-test in writing were used as a base of quantitative data analysis whereas the learners' responses to creativity questionnaire were used to categorize their creativity level. The result revealed that the process writing approach combined with video-based mobile learning was effective to enhance the learners' writing skill. Additionally, it was implied that to apply the combination of process writing approach and video-based mobile learning, teachers should not worry about the difference levels of the learners' creativity.
The purpose of this study was to describe students' difficulties in solving problem solving problems in Algebra and Trigonometry courses. Subjects in this study were students of the Mathematics Education Faculty of Unika Santo Thomas Faculty of Teaching and Education study program in North Sumatra in semester 1 of the 2017-2018 school year, totaling 10 people. The data collection tool used in this study was a test of 5 questions in the form of a description. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collection techniques are carried out by tests, observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques were carried out with the stages of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students had difficulty using the concept of equality and inequality squared, the use of the concepts of trigonometric formulas. Students also have difficulties in using number sequence principles and completing trigonometric equation solving, difficulties in disclosing information from problem solving and calculation errors. The contributing factor is the existence of several concepts and principles of algebra and trigonometry that are used in solving problems that have not been well controlled by students and are less thorough in performing calculations.Abstrak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kesulitan-kesulitan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal pemecahan masalaha pada mata kuliah Aljabar dan Trigonometri.Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Matematika Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Unika Santo Thomas Sumatera Utara semester 1 tahun ajaran 2017-2018 yang berjumlah 10 orang. Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah test yang berjumlah 5 soal berbentuk uraian. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes, observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan tahap reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan penggunaan konsep persamaan dan pertidaksamaan kuadrat, penggunaan konsep rumus-rumus trigonometri. Mahasiswa juga kesulitan dalam penggunan prinsip barisan bilangan dan menyelesaikan penyelesaian persamaan trigonometri, kesulitan mengungkapkan informasi dari soal pemecahan masalah dan kesalahan perhitungan. Faktor penyebabnya adalah adanya beberapa konsep dan prinsip aljabar dan trigonometri yang digunakan dalam menyelesaikan masalah masih belum dikuasi dengan baik oleh mahasiswa dan kurang teliti dalam melakukan perhitungan. The purpose of this research is to develop strategies that can be applied in the development of local food diversification in West Kalimantan. The data used are primary data and secondary data. Variables examined included internal factors (strengths and weaknesses) and external factors (opportunities and threats) in the development of local food diversification in West Kalimantan. Data analysis were conducted in qualitative descriptive to describe the pattern of food consumption in West Kalimantan and continued with a SWOT analysis to carry out the development strategy of the local food diversification in West Kalimantan. The analysis result showed that the strategy for the development of local food diversification in West Kalimantan is SO strategy (Strengths - Opportunities) those are: 1) the increase in synergy between the government and the micro, small and medium enterprises for the development of local food products, 2) the utilization of communications and market information system in improving the marketing of local food products on micro, small and medium enterprises, and 3) the utilization of unutilized agricultural land to improve the quality and quantity of local food products.
Developmentof agriculture mechanization in Sambas Regency is needed in order to support the increased of rice production. Technically, agricultural mechanization is expected to increase the productivity of the land and, economically, it is expected to increase farmers' income. The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of tractor usage on income and availability of labor in rice farming. This research was conducted in Sambas Regency, using survey method. The results showed that the use of tractors for soil processing significantly increased the productivity and income of rice farming. The use of tractors on soil treatment has increased productivity by 667 kg/ha. The use of tractors on land treatment also increased revenues by Rp.2.843.400,-/ha, although raising the cost. In-house labor and farming families are available for soil cultivation, but farmers generally prefer to use the tractors for soil treatment.The use of tractors has reduced the use of labor, thus accelerating land preparation and planting activities. Farmers who do not use tractors because of environmental factors farming, namely the unavailability of irrigation.
Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan di Desa Kerinjing, Kecamatan Tanjung Raja, Ogan Ilir yang merupakan salah satu desa binaan dari Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Sriwijaya. Pelatihan pengelolaan kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat membantu masyarakat, khususnya ibu rumah tangga untuk memanfaatkan sampah rumah tangga menjadi sesuatu yang bermanfaat seperti membuat kompos dengan menggunakan metode komposting. Metode komposting merupakan teknik menghasilkan kompos yang digunakan sebagai pupuk maupun penguat struktur tanah. Komposting digunakan untuk mempercepat proses degradasi bahan organik dengan bantuan mikroba. Dengan adanya pembinaan tentang sampah rumah tangga menjadi pupuk kompos, maka akan mengurangi volume sampah rumah tangga yang sekarang ini semakin meningkat seiring bertambahnya jumlah penduduk.
