Background: Early marriages are at high risk of marital failure, poor family quality, young pregnancies at risk of maternal death, and the risk of being mentally ill to foster marriage and be responsible parents. Objective: To determine the effect of reproductive health education on peer groups (peers) on the knowledge and perceptions of adolescents about marriage age maturity. Method: This research uses the Quasi experimental method with One group pre and post test design, conducted from May to September 2018. The statistical analysis used in this study is a paired T test with a confidence level of 95% (α = 0, 05). Results: There is an average difference in the mean value of adolescent knowledge between the first and second measurements is 0.50 with a standard deviation of 1.922. The mean difference in mean scores of adolescent perceptions between the first and second measurements was 4.42 with a standard deviation of 9.611. Conclusion: There is a significant difference between adolescent knowledge on the pretest and posttest measurements with a value of P = 0.002, and there is a significant difference between adolescent perceptions on the pretest and posttest measurements with a value of p = 0.001. Increasing the number of facilities and facilities related to reproductive health education by peer groups (peers) in adolescents is carried out on an ongoing basis at school, in collaboration with local health workers as prevention of risky pregnancy.
BACKGROUND: Preconception health care are critical in addressing modifiable risk factors to prevent maternal death, neonatal death, unplanned pregnancies, birth defects, premature birth and retardation of fetal growth in the womb. AIM: The aim of this study was to determine the impact of preconception health cadres empowerment on changed in preconception health behaviors of brides and grooms-to-be, as well as improved utilization of preconception health services at eight community health centers in the Deli Serdang district. METHODS: This research is part of a dissertation study entitled Preconception Period Service Strategy on Brides and Grooms-to-Be through Empowerment of Preconception Health Cadres in Deli Serdang Regency. The effect of the empowerment of preconception health cadres in preconception health behaviors performed by Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with the statistical significance test with CI 95% and significant difference value p<0,05. The Normalized Gain (N-gain score) test is used to assess the effectiveness of the intervention. RESULTS. There is a significant influence of preconception health cadres empowerment interventions on the knowledge, attitudes, and actions of brides and grooms-to-be in preconception health with the same probability value of p=0.001. Most brides and grooms-to-be (80%) take advantage of preconception health services at health centers after following the intervention of empowerment of preconception health cadres. CONCLUSIONS. Interventions empowering preconception health cadres significantly affect the behavior of the brides and grooms-to-be and quite effective in increasing knowledge and actions of brides and grooms-to-be in preconception health.
Pertolongan persalinan oleh tenaga kesehatan terlatih merupakan salah satu cara paling efektif dalam upayamenurunkan Angka Kematian Ibu (AKI), oleh karena itu sasaran dari pembangunan kesehatan salah satunyaadalah meningkatnya secara bermakna jumlah ibu hamil yang memeriksakan diri dan melahirkan ditolongoleh tenaga kesehatan. Pada tahun 2010 di Kecamatan Bandar Pulau terdapat 2 orang ibu bersalin dan 1orang ibu masa nifas meninggal. Hal ini disebabkan oleh karena persalinan di tolong oleh dukun (Profilkesehatan Puskesmas Aek Songsongan, 2010).Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis pengaruhdiskriminasi gender dalam keluarga (aksespelayanan kesehatan dan pengambilan keputusan) terhadappemilihan penolong persalinan di Kecamatan Bandar Pulau Kabupaten Asahan tahun 2013. Jenis penelitianini merupakan survei analitik dengan pendekatan explanatory research yang bersifat Cross Sectional yangdilakukan di Kecamatan Bandar Pulau Kabupaten Asahan 2013. Penelitian dilaksanakan mulai Bulan Julisampai dengan bulan September tahun 2013. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh ibu bersalin dalam3 bulan terakhir yang berdomisili di Kecamatan Bandar Pulau Kabupaten Asahan dengan besar sampel 94orang. Penentuan sampel secarapurposive sampling. Untuk menganalisis pengaruh diskriminasi genderdalam keluarga (akses pelayanan kesehatan danpengambilan keputusan) terhadap pemilhan penolongpersalinan digunakan uji regresi logistik ganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada pengaruh diskriminasigender dalam keluarga aspek akses pelayanan kesehatan terhadap pemilihan penolong persalinan dikecamatan Bandar Pulau kabupaten Asahan tahun 2013 (p=0,030) dengan nilai koefisien regresi=-1,588,sehingga dapat dinyatakan bahwa bahwa diskriminasi gender dalam keluarga aspek akses ke pelayanankesehatan yang kurang baik akan meningkatkan angka pertolongan persalinan dengan non tenaga kesehatan.Sedangkan diskriminasi gender dalam keluarga aspek pengambilan keputusan tidak berpengaruh secarabermakna. Diharapkan pada pengambil kebijakan di Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Asahan dapat merumuskanprogram kerja yang berperspektif gender seperti program promosi kesehatan tentang kesehatan reproduksidan pertolongan persalinan dalam upaya pencegahan terjadinya komplikasi persalinan dan nifas sertakematian pada ibu.
The purpose of this research is to find out how the relationship between the role playing method to the interests of college students in communication and counseling subjects in midwifery practice.This research is correlational, this correlation study is essentially a research or study of the relationship between two variables in a situation or group of subjects. This is done to see the relationship between one symptom with another symptom, or one variable with another variable. The population in this study were all first-level students in the Midwifery Academy of Poltekkes Kemenkes Medan, as many as 63 people. Result of the reasearch are: a) the application of role play learning methods in the Midwifery Academy of Poltekkes Kemenkes Medan 2012, good category (66.7%), b) the interest in studying Level I students in communication and counseling courses in midwifery practice at the Poltekkes Kemenkes Medan Midwifery Academy in 2012 is good (52.4%) and, c) there is a relationship between the role play learning method with the students' interest in learning communication and counseling courses in midwifery practice, where r count (0.639) > r table (0.254) with a Sig (2-sided) value of 0,000
