Regularna fizi~ka aktivnost redukuje rizik za razvoj vi{e hroni~nih bolesti ukqu~uju}i diabetes mellitus, hipertenziju, koronarnu bolest i neke vrste karcinoma. Ona tako|e unapre|uje mentalno zdravqe i zna~ajna je za zdravqe mi{i}a, kostiju i zglobova. Regularna fizi~ka aktivnost odr`ava funkcionalnu nezavisnost starih osoba i una-pre|uje kvalitet `ivota u svim uzrastima. Hroni~ne nezarazne bolesti (NCDs) uzrokuju 60 odsto od globalnog mortaliteta i 47 odsto od ukupnog tereta oboqevawa (WHR 2002), a procewuje se da }e to biti 73 odsto, odnosno 60 odsto do 2020. godine. godini, proceweno je da 35 miliona odlazi na hroni~ne nezarazne bolesti, {to je dva puta vi{e u odnosu na broj umrlih od svih infektivnih bolesti (ukqu~uju}i HIV/AIDS, tuberkulozu i malariju), maternalna i perinatalna stawa i nutritivne deficijencije zajedno: 60 odsto od svih smrtnih slu~ajeva uzrokovano je hroni~nim bolestima. Najsiro-ma{nije zemqe imaju najvi{e obolelih-80 odsto smrtnih slu~ajeva usled hroni~nih nezaraznih bolesti odlazi na nerazvijene i sredwe razvijene zemqe, {to je najve}i deo sveta. Promocija zdravqa je proces koji omogu-}ava qudima da uve}aju kontrolu i tako unaprede svoje zdravqe. Zdravqe je resurs za svakodnevni `ivot, pozitivan koncept ko-Summary. From a projected total of 58 million deathes from all causes in 2005, it is estimated that chronic diseases will account for 35 million, which is double the number of deaths from all infectious diseases (including HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria), maternal and perinatal conditions, and nutritional deficiencies combined: 60% of all deaths are due to chronic diseases.
