This paper describes the queuing system for buying tickets in a cinema. Queues can be interpreted as a long line of customers who need service from one or more service facilities. Queues occur because of an imbalance between those served and their services. Some cinema consumers are annoyed because of the long queue to buy tickets and sometimes cancel them. One cinema that does not escape the length of the queue waiting time is the XYZ cinema. The purpose of this study is to optimize the queue system in buying tickets in the cinema to avoid long queues. The queuing system is optimized with a simulation approach using discrete event simulation. Simulation results show the best value obtained in the proposed scenario simulation model is to add a queue path to the queuing system. The results obtained are by increasing the queue path from 1 to 2 so that the length of the queue decreases from 91.2068 people per hour to 54.1520 and 50.8887 people per hour. Service time at counter 1 is 4.2201 minutes with an average number of 58.5861 people per hour. Service time at counter 2 is 3.9701 minutes with an average number of 51.1310 people per hour.
Home industry is now increasingly in demand by the community as a form of "Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM) " that have simple concepts and promising results. Many business ideas and opportunities that can be realized into a home industry business, one of which is food processing. UMKM have a major contribution to the rolling of the economy of a country, not only as a seed that generates the growth of big business but also provides certain services for the community which for large businesses are considered to be less cost-efficient. The IMO (Ikatan Makanan Minuman Olahan) of Sumatera Utara is one of the communities that oversees several UMKM entrepreneurs spread across Sumatera Utara. Types of snack products that are quite popular are cassava chips, banana chips, and crackers. Almost all chips processing is done by frying. A problem that is often experienced is the level of oil in chips that are still included in the packaging. This is due to the process of draining the oil which is still done manually. It takes a touch of technology to replace the manual process into a mechanical system that is with a spinner or known as a cooking oil drainer. The target and output of this activity is to achieve an increase in the quality of chips production under the IMO through the use of appropriate technology, namely a simple and low-cost oil-spinning machine.
Business developments demanded food distributor XYZ Company to change the management of data from manually recording to computerized. Company information data is stored on the computer so that the company can manage data effectively and quickly. The analysis is conducted on the company’s data flow system and is depicted with the Data Flow Diagram. The data object relationships in the company are pointed through the Entity Relationship Diagram. The development of programming applications for companies is done on Windows platforms based on visuals and graphics. Identification of the registration of goods in the company’s old system and presented with images and proposals covering the performance, information, economy, control, efficiency, and service sections of the company’s old systems. The expected result of this research is that companies can obtain a more convenient data recording system, reduce errors in the data recording process. This application is expected to facilitate the reprocessing of sales and purchase data at food distributor companies.
Nowadays, business developments are increasingly stringent, even though they are in an economic condition that tends to be unstable due to the impact of the pandemic. This has an impact on business competition that is getting higher and sharper, both in the domestic market and in the international market. Every business in high competition is required to always compete with other companies in the same industry. One way to win the competition or at least survive in the competition is to give full attention to the quality of the products produced by the company and ensure smooth production so that production targets can be achieved. One of the efforts to smooth production is to fix problems that occur in production. The constraint experienced by partners is that the production target is not achieved because the toaster oven stops rotating. Based on the analysis, it was found that this problem was caused by fluctuations in the electric voltage that entered the toaster oven. So based on the survey and discussion conducted by the team, to overcome the problems experienced by partners, the team proposes to design and assemble an Assembled Electrical Voltage Stabilizer for Toaster Ovens. The target and outcome of this activity is to increase the partner's production capacity by using an Electric Voltage Stabilizer.
