We demonstrate the use of microstructures made in Apex ™ photosensitive glass for in-plane investigation of microfluidic systems by demonstrating the ability to detect chemical fluids through the etched glass walls in the Visible and Near Infrared (NIR) regions. Absorption spectra of liquid ethanol and Raman spectroscopy of Dimethyl sulfoxide in Apex microcuvettes demonstrates their high potential in analyzing stacks of microfluidic systems from the sidewalls. Thus eliminating the need for non-planar observation of microfluidic systems.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
