This study aims at finding out the correlation between learning outcomes in music theory subject and percussion instrument practice subject in the Department of Drama, Dnace and Music Arts. This quantitative research used a correlational method involving two variables, i.e. the learning outcomes of music theory subject and the learning outcomes percussion instrument practice subject. The population in this study was the students of Department of Drama, Dance and Music Arts, Faculty of Languages and Arts, Universitas Negeri Padang whi took Music Theory subject in the even semester of 2017-18 academic calendar. Meanwhile, the sample in this study was the students of the Department of Drama, Dance and Music Arts who took the Percussion Instrument Practice subject in the even semester of 2018-19 academic calendar. The data of this study were documentation of the students’ learning outcomes in music theory and percussion instrument practice subjects which were processed using the Pearson product moment correlation test method. The results of data analysis showed that the value of the correlation test was 0.1013 or 10.13%. This coefficient value was based on the interpretation of the coefficient values in the range 0.00 – 0.19, indicating that the level of correlation between music theory subject and percussion instrument subject was very weak. Using a significance test with an error level of 5%, the results of the hypothesis testing showed that rcount ˂ rtable, indicating that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. This means that there is a correlation between the learning outcomes of music theory subject in its application to the practice of percussion instrument, but in a very weak level. Keywords: relationships, learning outcomes, basic music theory, percussion instruments

The purpose of this study is to find out how the learning process of Etude Fifty Little Flute Studies is conducted in the flute instrument Major I course in the Music Education Study Program at FBS UniversitasNegeri Padang. This research is a descriptive analysis research by utilizing qualitative data. The implementation of Etude Fifty Little Flute Studies learning in flute instrument major I involved students of 2019 class who just took major I course which was played in 3 repertoires. The study examined the learning process of Etude Fifty Little Flute Studies Op 25 and Op 26 by looking for processes, learning experiences, and learning evaluations.Based on the results of learning conducted, Etude Fifty Little Flute Studies is very influential in the learning process. It is due to the fact that flute instrument major I studentsare still categorized as beginners and are new to the flute instruments and theoretical abilities such as using suspension, legato and staccato techniques. This is proven by students who carry out the process well and practice through the material given. Thus, these students get grades according to their processes. The relation between what is explained by the lecturer and the students theoretically and practically can be done well even though it is not that optimal because there is no direct control through face to face meeting. Keywords: Learning, Etude Fifty Little Flute Studies, Flute Instruments
This study aims to determine the magnitude of the effect of vocal course learning outcomes on choir course learning outcomes of students (2017 generation) in Music Concentration, Sendratasik Education Study Program, Department of Sendratasik, FBS UNP. This is a quantitative research using a correlational method. The population in this study was students (2017 generation) in Sendratasik Education Study Program, Music Concentration Department of Sendratasik, FBS UNP. The sample in the study was the learning outcomes of students of Sendratasik Education Study Program, Music Concentration, Department of Sendratasik, FBS, UNP in vocal and choir courses. This research used primary and secondary data sources. The data analysis was conducted by using product moment correlation technique. The results of research and data processing as well as testing the hypothesis show that the correlation coefficient (r) obtained in the learning outcomes of vocal courses and learning outcomes of choir courses from three classes of 65 people from the 2017 generation of Sendratasik Education Study Program is 0.16127 or 16.127% and it is categorized very weak. In class A, the value obtained is 0.453 or 45.3% and it is categorized quite influential. In class B, the value obtained is 0.1605 or 16.05% and it is categorized very low. In class C, the value obtained is -0,1297 or -12.97%. This predicate gives no effect. The total percentage is 45.3% + 16.05% -12.97% = 16.127%. Thus, the analysis of student learning outcomes is 1: 2.Keywords: Effect, Vocal Ability, Learning Outcomes, Student Choir
