The aim of this article is to update and inform from the literature review of studies, worldwide, on self-fulfilling prophecy and self-efficacy in the field of education. Different databases and repositories from different universities worldwide were reviewed. As selection criteria, research was considered that respond to the terms self-fulfilling prophecy, Pygmalion effect, expectations, general self-efficacy, academic self-efficacy, considering the methodological approaches, results and contributions of the research on the subject. This is a documentary descriptive theoretical type article, whose consultation period was from 2016 to 2021 and whose final sample was 103 documents. It is concluded that Self-Efficacy and Self-Fulfilling Prophecy are on different shores, the first has the subject as his own agent, so that he foresees the success of his actions; in the second, the agency is delegated to third parties and the subject becomes passive with a high probability of fulfilling the prophecy, independent of his social status.

La presente investigación da una mirada y visibiliza el impacto que tienenlos principales problemas de exclusión educativa, en la construcción deproyectos de vida colectivos de los estudiantes de educación media dela Institución Educativa Normal Superior de Pitalito-Huila. El estudio fuede tipo descriptivo en un primer momento y hermenéutico en su segundaetapa, e incluyó la participación de 110 jóvenes del grado once. Los resultadosdescritos se agrupan en: características socio demográficas de losestudiantes, condiciones sociales, académicas, culturales y económicasque se convierten en generadores de exclusión educativa, además delimpacto que los diferentes elementos y aspectos generadores de exclusiónsocial han producido en la construcción de proyectos de vida colectivos enla comunidad educativa de la I. E. Normal superior de Pitalito-Huila. Losresultados obtenidos develan que existen en el medio institucional y socialdiversos factores que se constituyen en generadores de exclusión educativa,y que a su vez se convierten en agentes importantes, asociados a la faltade construcción de proyectos de vida personal, pero sobre todo colectivosentre los estudiantes de grado once de la Escuela Normal superior.
