Purpose: Stress is the body’s physical or mental reaction to adversity. It has become more prevalent because of dynamic social factors and changing lifestyle demands. Physical, mental, and behavioural changes occur as physiological responses to an external condition. Stress is a part of everyone’s life, and IT professionals are no exception. Individuals working in the information technology field are under more stress because they are target-driven and expected to deliver results. As technology and new-age facilities become more widely available, this pressure will increase. As a result, the industry has confronted the issue rather than avoided it. It is a positive sign because it could add significant value to the industry. This paper has attempted to study the stress management strategies adopted by TCS and Infosys. Methodology: To meet the objective of the paper, secondary sources of data which included books, journals, articles, Google Scholar, newspapers and websites are used. Findings: According to the findings, Infosys and TCS have well-designed coping strategies at the organisational level. Strong management strategies are also likely to reduce unhealthy stress in both TCS and Infosys by increasing employee autonomy, training, working environment, time frames, career development, and support networks. Originality/Value: This paper attempts to study the best practices adopted by TCS and Infosys' in stress management using secondary data. This research will enable the management of both TCS and Infosys to redesign their policies and strategies to reduce the existing high employee attrition and encourage productivity improvement in the organization. Also, the study will enable the readers, researchers and practitioners (HR Managers) to have a professional approach in addressing the critical issue of employee attrition focusing on stress management. Business leaders are starting to understand the value of employee wellbeing as HR teams and IT industries help the workforce navigate and adapt throughout these transformations. The capacity to approach well-being holistically and align it with the distinct culture of the business is essential. Employers have to find solutions to meet the growing demands for empathy toward their employees because they are distressed and worried about what is happening to them. Employee wellbeing is the term used to describe the staff's general mental, physical, emotional, and financial health. Employee well-being is influenced by every aspect of work-life, including an employee's performance, interactions with fellow colleagues, personal standards, and workplace environment. Many IT companies are embracing employee well-being as a measure of teachable and everyday behaviour to address these issues. The present paper attempts to study employee well-being initiatives in the IT sector. Methodology: To meet the objective of the paper, secondary sources of data like the IBEF report on the information technology sector, annual reports from selected IT companies, journal articles in Google Scholar, newspapers, and business websites are used. Findings: According to the findings, many companies in the IT sector are promoting employee well-being by offering various initiatives and resilience-building training, and many more are adopting a preventative strategy to manage stress by working to identify risks and causes. However financial well-being is still an area that gets little attention Originality/Value: This study will assist in comprehending the various employee well-being initiatives introduced by IT sector companies. To assist the companies in fostering a compassionate workplace culture and putting employees first, SWOC Analysis of those initiatives is carried out. Paper Type: Case Study.
Purpose: This review paper's objective is to look into how workplace culture affects the results of employee mental health and well-being. The review will cover the body of research on the subject and offer a thorough grasp of the elements that influence both healthy and unhealthy workplace cultures. Methodology: The systematic search and selection of pertinent studies on workplace culture and employee mental health and well-being will be the emphasis of this review study. Several peer-reviewed academic research examine and take into account the study's theoretical foundations. The majority of the information used in this article is taken from secondary sources. Journal articles and academic research publications provide secondary data. Findings: The findings demonstrate that organisational culture has a major impact on the mental health and wellbeing of employees. Through developing supportive leadership, social support, suitable job expectations, work-life balance, and effective regulations, healthy workplace cultures that promote employee mental health and well-being can be improved. The outcomes of employee mental health and well-being, however, can be negatively impacted by unfavourable workplace cultures, which are defined by unsupportive leadership, a lack of social support, excessive job demands, a lack of work-life balance, and insufficient policies. The study also discusses opportunities for future research, such as the need to look into the potential effects of workplace culture on certain mental diseases and the moderating effects of individual traits. Originality/Value: By offering an exhaustive synthesis of the body of research on the subject, this review paper makes a significant contribution to the body of knowledge on workplace culture and employee mental wellbeing and well-being. The study report will also offer useful recommendations for businesses, decision-makers, and practitioners on how to foster supportive work environments and enhance employee mental health and wellbeing.
