Tambar ni hulit, which means skin medicine in the Simalungun language, is the title of an old manuscript belonging to the Simalungun tribe. This manuscript is written on laklak material containing medicine information for various diseases. Moreover, this manuscript is relatively rare and written in characters and language that are no longer commonly used. The purpose of this study is to inventory, describe, transliterate, and translate the interpretation of the Tambar Ni Hulit contents. Tambar Ni Hulit is one of the results in searching for old manuscripts in various places in North Sumatra, like museums, libraries, and private collections. The inventory, description, transliteration, and translation were carried out by applying the philological method and content analysis was done to review the content. The result of the inventory described the information of the storage location of Tambar Ni Hulit, namely the North Sumatra Museum. The description analysis described the physical state of the manuscript. From the transliteration and translation results, it is concluded that the Tambar Ni Hulit contains various disease information accompanied by the ingredients of their respective medicine and treatment methods with incantations during the treatment.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeksripsikan tahapan-tahapan daritradisi mangalahat horbo dalam upacara saurmatua, fungsi yang terkandungdalam tradisi mangalahat horbo dalam upacara saurmatua, nilai-nilai kearifanlokal yang terkandung dalam tradisi mangalahat horbo dalam upacara saurmatua.Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori speaking yang dikemukakan oleh Dell Hymes (1974), teori fungsi yang di ungkapkan oleh Leech(1992), teori kearifan lokal yang dikemukakan oleh Sibarani (2014). Adapunmetode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dapat penulis simpulkan adalah (1) 3 tahapan persiapan dan 8 tahapan pelaksanaan dalam tradisi mangalahat horbo dalam upacara saurmatua, adapun tahapan tersebut adalah pasada tahi, mompo/manggopoi, marriaraja, tortor bius, tortor pangurason, tortor tunggal panaluana, pajonjong borotan, manogu horbo, mangalahat horbo, padalan jambar, sipitu dae. (2) terdapat/terkandung fungsi tahapan persiapan dan 8 tahapan pelaksanaan tradisi mangalahat horbo dalam upacara saurmatua. (3) terdapat 13 nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang terkandung dalam tradisi mangalahat horbo dalam upacara saurmatua, yaitu, kesetiakawanan sosial, kerukunan & penyelesaian konflik, kesopansantunan, rasa syukur, kesejahteraan, pendidikan, pelestarian dan kreatifitas budaya, pengelolaan gender, kerja keras, pengendalian diri, gotong royong, disiplin, dan tanggung jawab.
This research aims to describe the structure and function of expressions of people's trust in the village of Sigodang, Simalungun Regency. The expression of people's trust is one of type folklore as a verbal which consists of verbal and non-verbal elements. Poeple's trust in general contains the values that regulate the relationship between fellow humans, and humans with their natural and surrounding, to regulate and supervise the norms prevailing in society. The metho d of data collection that used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method, and used the folklore theory. The results of this research indicate that: 1. The structure of people's trust expression in Sigodang Village consist of a. two structured expressions with a cause and effect pattern, and pattern of signs and effects., b. three structured expressions with a causal-conversion pattern, and causal-conversion pattern.; 2. The function of people's trust expressions is: a. thickener of religious emotions or trust., b. as an educational tool for children and teenager., c. as a collective dream projection system., d.as a means of coercion and supervisor so that the norms of society are always obeyed by collective members.
Aims to describe the meaning and function of local wisdom contained in proverbs or called limbaga Simalungun. The meaning and function of local wisdom is a general guideline or principle adopted by every member of society, especially in attitude and behavior, to meet social needs. Therefore, value is an idea related to what is considered good, worthy and desired by all levels of society in life. The data collection method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method which tends to use analysis. The data collection methods used in this study are: library methods, observation methods and interview methods. The results of the analysis of this study indicate that the proverb (Limbaga) of Simalungun has a meaning and function of local wisdom.
