Just-in-sequence supply solutions are highly searched problems of the scheduling the manufacturing and logistics resources. The cost reduction, efficiency and capacity utilization are based on the controlled and designed parameters of the participants' supply processes and services. To increase logistic operations and other services in supply chain’s inventory activities, the optimization of the supply process is unavoidable. The aim of this article to measure the efficiency of the supply chain’s inventory activities in manufacturing technology processes. Based on the results of the application of our ABC-XYZ model approach to defines the importance of product values in the inventory management systems. The case study and computational results validate the matrix model and evaluates its efforts to renewing manufacturing and delivery processes's efficiency in inventory strartegies based on just-in-sequence strategy.
Cross-docking is used as logistics strategy, where the goods are removed from the incoming vehicles to be forward directly to the outgoing vehicles. Based on the logistics processes are need more attention to minimalize the storage time or completely neglecting it. It can be used by several different companies around the world due to its economic and environmental benefits. Perhaps the most popular example is the two giant companies of American owners, Amazon and Walmart, whose main activity has a major role to play in the success of a well-planned and operated distribution logistics. With its use, the transportation costs can be highly minimized, products from several suppliers can be combined to a single shipment for economy, and lead times are reduced, and inventory costs are improved.
The outbreak of coronavirus has not only taken the lives of people and caused long-term health issues, but it has influenced the supply chain of service and production sectors. Not only the production, but also the related purchasing and distribution processes are influenced by the pandemic situation and new challenges have to be taken into consideration. To overcome these challenges, new strategies, policies, methods, algorithms, decision making tools were developed and used. Within the frame of this article, the authors analyse the available literature sources to identify the tendencies in the supply chain solutions during pandemic and to find the potential theoretical and practical solution to overcome challenges in disrupted supply chain. In the first part of the article, the descriptive analyses focus on the identification of research subject and scientific fields, while in the second part, the content analysis discusses the most important contributions of research works regarding problems and solutions in disrupted supply chain in manufacturing. The consequences of this literature review show that a wide range of new policies, strategies and methodologies were developed and applied to avoid first mile, production and last mile problems to fulfil the decreased customers’ demands.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
