We describe the floristic composition and structure of two premontane forest fragments at the city of Villeta in Cundinamarca, Colombia. All individuals with a diameter at breast height ≥ 10 centimeter were counted in a 0.1 ha plot of each forest. A total of 67 species in 45 botanical families were recorded; with Lauraceae, Melastomataceae, Moraceae, Myrtaceae y Euphorbiaceae being the most abundant and diverse. La Esmeralda fragment showed a large abundance, with 48 species and with Quercus humboldtii, Alfaroa colombiana, Guatteria lehmannii and Clethra fagifolia as the most abundant. At San Isidro fragment only 42 species were recorded and Clethra fagifolia, Hedyosmum bonplandianum and Meriania speciosa where the most abundant. Six of the most abundant families were registered in both places. The floristic diversity was similar in the two fragments (H` 3,5 y 3,3), but the index of similarity was low, only 29,3% of the species were shared. The results showed that these forests have a low diversity, since we registered fewer number of species and individuals than has been reported in other premontane forests.Keywords: Villeta, premontane forests, floristic composition and diversity. Estructura y composición florística de dos fragmentos de bosques premontanos en el municipio de Villeta, CundinamarcaResumen Se caracterizó la composición florística y la estructura de dos fragmentos bosques premontanos de la cordillera oriental en el municipio de Villeta Cundinamarca, entre 1780 y 1830 msnm, para lo cual se censaron todos los individuos con diámetro a la altura de pecho ≥ 10 cm en 0,1 ha en cada bosque. En total se registraron 67 especies correspondientes a 45 familias botánicas, sobresaliendo: Lauraceae, Melastomataceae, Moraceae, Myrtaceae y Euphorbiaceae, por su riqueza y diversidad. El fragmento La Esmeralda presentó una mayor riqueza con 48 especies, siendo Quercus humboldtii, Alfaroa colombiana, Guatteria lehmannii y Clethra fagifolia las más abundantes, mientras que San Isidro solo registro 42 especies donde predominaron Clethra fagifolia, Hedyosmum bonplandianum y Meriania speciosa.. Seis de las familias más abundantes se encontraron simultáneamente en ambos sitios. La diversidad florística es similar en los dos fragmentos (H` 3,5 y 3,3), sin embargo el índice de similaridad es bajo, compartiendo solo el 29,3% de las especies, además los resultados indican que estos bosques presentan una baja riqueza ya que se registraron un menor número de especie e individuos que los reportados para otros estudios de bosques premontanos.
