a good functional outcome. MRI is the most helpful modality for the diagnosis and surgical planning of symptomatic giant lipoma, as it demonstrates the relationships between tumors and adjacent musculature, bones and neurovascular structures (Cribb et al., 2005;Deshmukh and Kelly, 1999). Although electrodiagnostic studies can be helpful for diagnosing neuropathy, clinical features are more important because electrophysiological tests can provide false negative results (Grundberg, 1983).Considering the surgical outcomes of previously reported cases and the described case, and the malignant potential of large soft tissue tumors, surgical excision should be considered to relieve symptoms and to acquire a tissue diagnosis in symptomatic giant lipoma.
