The development of a country also leads to the development of its people. As the economy progresses in terms of industrialisation, agricultural practices and the development of infrastructure playgrounds, skills have become an integral part of the lives of those who want to achieve a sustainable livelihood and a promising career. This article attempts to look at some reflections of these skill development programmes based on primary data. The article is divided into two parts. First, it assesses the awareness level of youth regarding various skill development programmes; and second, it demonstrates the importance of skill development programmes in the development of the country’s youth. For this study, a sample of 260 young people is used. This research article contributes to understanding the awareness level of youth towards skill development programmes and for a better understanding of the role of skill development programmes in helping youth gain employment, start their businesses, and change their lifestyle and social status.
