On reaction of [Y(OCH2CH2OMe)3] ,0 (2) with [(thd)Cu(OCH2CH2OMe)]4 (la) and [(hfd)Cu(OCH2CH2OMe)]4 (lb) (thd = 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-3,5-heptanedione; hfd = 1,1,1,5,5,5-hexafluoroacetylacetone), the mixed-metal clusters (thd)4Cu3Y(OCH2CH2OMe)5 (3), [(hfd)2CuY(OCH2CH2OMe)3]2 (4), and (hfd)2(thd)2Cu2Y(OCH2-CH2OMe)3 ( 5) are formed.
