O designer trabalha construindo objetos, processos e sistemas para serem utilizados por pessoas. Nessa relação, percebemos a influência que o design pode ter na sociedade, porque essas criações são respostas a necessidades humanas. Muitos autores, como Simon, Frascara e Papanek incluem, na definição de design, a construção do inexistente. Isso posiciona o designer entre o imaginário e o que existe. E essa é uma posição que os designers assumem com frequência durante o ato de projetar. E, em especial, no design especulativo. Nessa prática, descrevemos cenários de futuro através de artefatos de design. O design especulativo alia o poder de transformação social do design à expansão de abordagens que podem surgir de exercícios de discussão e reflexão sobre futuros possíveis.Palavras-chave: Design Especulativo; Design de interação; Narrativas. Designers work creating objects, processes and systems to be used by people. In this relation, we can perceive the influence of design in society, because those creations are responses to human needs. Many authors like Simon,Frascara and Papanek include, in the definition of design, the idea of building the non-existent. This puts the designer between the imaginary and what exists, and is a common position that designers assume in when designing and, especially, in the speculative design. In this practice, we describe future scenarios through design artifacts. Speculative design combines design's power of social changes with the expansion of possibilities that may arise from discussions about possible futures.
