Introduction: Amyand's hernia is defined as the presence of the cecal appendix within the inguinal hernia sac, with or without inflammation. Objective: This article aims to describe a case of rare inguinal hernia, emphasizing its clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects. Case report: A 70-yearold man was admitted to the emergency room with recurrent right lumbar pain, with a previous history of urinary tract lithiasis. Associated with this, he had a history of bulging in the right inguinal region with incarceration and spontaneous reduction, but it had not reduced for 7 days. History of right inguinal herniorrhaphy 40 years ago. No signs of peritonitis, laboratory with mild leukocytosis and PCR 20. EAS without infectious signs. Computed tomography was performed, which showed non-obstructive nephrolithiasis on the right and inguinal hernia on the right with a portion of the cecal appendix, of normal appearance, inside the hernial sac. He underwent videolaparoscopic right inguinal hernioplasty with tactical videolaparoscopic appendectomy. Discussion: The pathophysiology is related to an enlarged inguinal canal, favoring the probability of inflammation of the cecal appendix. The most common clinical presentation is a reducible inguinal hernia, with bulging in the inguinal region, which is slightly painful. The diagnosis is most often made intraoperatively. Treatment is surgical and consists of appendectomy or not followed by hernia repair with or without the use of a propylene prosthesis. Conclusion: A case of Amyand's hernia, a surgical entity of unusual character and with operative management, was presented.
Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are rare mesenchymal neoplasms of the gastrointestinal tract. GISTs that arise from the bowel wall usually present as subepithelial neoplasms in the stomach and small intestine; however, they can also arise in any portion of the gastrointestinal tract and, occasionally, in the omentum, mesentery, and peritoneum. They are rare neoplasms that represent approximately 1 to 2% of primary gastrointestinal (GI) cancers. Despite their rarity, GISTs are the most prevalent mesenchymal (ie, non-epithelial) neoplasms of the GI tract, with the stomach being the most common primary tumor site (40 to 60%). ¹ This study aims to describe a case of low prevalence of gastric GIST with involvement of the retroperitoneum, focusing on its management and surgical approach. The case in question was conducted by the General Surgery Residency Service of the UFMS at the'' Hospital Universitário Maria Aparecida Pedrossian'' . Taking into account the scarce records of the approach to this type of tumor in the literature, especially with retroperitoneal involvement, this report details the management of the case, from the initial diagnosis, anatomopathological and histopathological confirmation, with clinical evolution throughout the hospital stay.
Hernia is a pathology that occurs due to the protrusion of abdominal elements, and the main risk factors are smoking, male gender, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes mellitus and family history. Suspicion occurs due to local bulging and, on physical examination, the reducibility of the content is verified, classifying it as reducible or incarcerated hernia. The definitive treatment is surgical by different techniques. This article presents a case report of a left inguinal hernia with contents of the cecum and terminal ileum, diagnosed during surgery. The case is presented by the rarity of its herniated content and location. It is difficult to clarify the mechanism and the associated epidemiology, with similar reports being referred to as Amyand's hernia. It is important because it is a differential diagnosis of inguinal hernias and because of its risk of complications such as ischemia of the cecum and terminal ileum.

Acute pancreatitis is an inflammatory condition of the pancreas caused by several etiologies, the main ones being gallstones and alcohol abuse. The drug cause is rare, corresponding to less than 5% of cases, usually accompanied by a good prognosis and low mortality. The reported case, however, shows a male patient, 37 years old, with a history of psychoactive substance abuse, in a severe presentation of the disease, evolving with an unfavorable and unusual outcome. Therefore, despite being an infrequent etiology, drug-induced pancreatitis must not be underestimated due to the potential risk of an unfavorable outcome, with early diagnosis and preventive measures being essential to prevent its occurrence.
