Investigative competencies are necessary to carry out an optimal and efficient research process. Descriptive research is presented whose general objective is to design a proposal of investigative competencies in the areas of the study plan of the medical career. The specific objectives are: to characterize the teachers and students of the medical career, identify the research activities in progress, describe the scientific and technical competences for the performance of the research and design a proposal of investigative competences in the three areas of the plan of study of the medical career of an Ecuadorian university.

The need to include the world of facts, of science, and the world of values, and in particular ethics in university studies related to scientific research, is not clearly visualized in universities, or at least it has not been suitably evaluated and materialized in facts. This article aims to assess this need, promoting the union between the scientific interest that each individual in their training and the need to achieve an understanding of ethical values. The contribution of bioethics in some Latin American countries and the positive change of this inclusion in the academic curriculum will be analyzed. Although there is more and more information and knowledge at hand, the understanding of the whole is increasingly fragile, manipulative, inaccurate, liar and repetitive. Hence the question about what as individuals we want to build and what kind of professionals we intend to train, from an ethical, legal, psychological, sociological and moral approach, that is why the importance of programmatic development of bioethics training modules. In Ecuador it is necessary that the Institutes of Higher Education adapt, promote, include, democratize greater accessibility to training in principles and values, to forge a culture of respect for life that will influence all human scenarios.

Research is considered a function aimed at obtaining new knowledge and its application for the solution to problems or questions of a scientific nature. Management is defined as the set of actions aimed at the development and fulfillment of an activity. Thus, research management is conceptualized as the institutional activity oriented to search, study, knowledge of reality, systematization of this knowledge and its transfer to meet needs and contribute to solving society's problems. University research management must have a continuous improvement approach based on methodologies that although they are different have as a common denominator: the identification, characterization, evaluation and improvement of the process. The objective of this work is to characterize the management of research in the Faculty of Medical Sciences of an Ecuadorian university.

Sexual intercourse at an early age is a public health problem, because they are associated with various health consequences such as early pregnancy, school drop-out, pre-term births, etc. The study was carried out on 120 adolescents from the baccalaureate, Eugenio Espejo educational unit of the city of Guayaquil - Ecuador, in the 2018-2019 school year. The descriptive, quantitative and analytical methodology of a transversal cohort was applied, considering the use of the survey. As a result of the investigation, the need to develop a sexual education program and the appropriate use of social networks was evidenced, which would be totally innovative because in the present moment no educational institution has carried out a study of this nature, to avoid relationships Early sexuality, minimizing high school dropout and the proper use of social networks in adolescents, therefore it is concluded that adolescents are exposed to the danger of social networks because they use it with high frequency, usually several times a day, without any control of their parents or legal representatives, which affects their cognitive and emotional development, a sexual education program will be implemented for the appropriate use of social networks.
