Use of the threshold detector system is considered for the measurement of neutron dose below the fission threshold of zs7Np.For the real neutron spectra of different critical assemblies the specfic dose in the energy region 400 eV-0.56 MeV varies widely. This leads to inaccuracy in the dose estimate using the simple assumption of a 1/E spectrum. A new interpretation is proposed using a different spectral model, which enables the accuracy of the dose estimate to be greatly improved.
