The nursing process is a problem-solving framework that enables the nursing staff to plan their care for patients. Aim: this study aims to evaluate the effect of adapting (NANDA) nursing process as an approach of Care on nurses' performance for COVID-19 Isolated patients. Design: Quasi experimental design was utilized to conduct this study. Setting: Isolation departments at Aswan University Hospital. Subjects: All nurses who are workers with (COVID-19) (17 males and 29 females) during the period from the beginning of April 1st 2020 to September 30th 2020. Tools :two tools used to collect the study data, Demographic data, nurses knowledge about COVID-19 and nursing' process application for nursing workers with (COVID-19) patients. Results: More than half of study sample's age group between 26 < 30 years, females, no training on application of nursing process and half of them have institute education, three quarters of the study sample had satisfactory level of knowledge pre Adapting nursing process, while all study sample had satisfactory post application, highly significant results for total component of nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation) between pre/post Adapting application of nursing process for COVID-19 isolated patients. Also there are positive significant correlation between total component of nursing process and total knowledge post adapting application of nursing process for COVID-19 isolated patients. Conclusions: Results denotes that, improved level of nurses' knowledge post caring for COVID-19 Isolated patients by using steps of nursing process with highly statistical significant deference's for total components of nursing process pre/post application. Recommendations: The nursing staff and health care team must be continue educate on the application of the nursing process to emergency situation, nursing administration should develop effective departmental policies and procedures for staff nurses related to application (NANDA) nursing process as an approach of Care for COVID-19 Isolated patients.
Background: Nurses job performance is severely affected by fatigue increasing rate of medical errors and health care worker injuries and patient safety associated with fatigue and work conditions Aims: To Study the effect of work conditions and fatigue on nurses job performance. Research design: Descriptive correlation of design. Setting: Al Eman general hospital at Assiut. Subject: consisted of (200) staff nurses. Tools: Three tools were used; I: Work conditions Questionnaire (WCQ), II: Piper Fatigue Scale (PFS), and III: Observational Checklist for assessment Nurses Job performance. Results: There was a negative correlation between job performance and fatigue. But a positive correlation between work conditions and job performance. Conclusion: Staff nurses' job performance was affected by level of work conditions and level of fatigue Recommendation: Recognition and motivation from administration to staff nurses, adjust the hours of work and reducing working days during holidays.
Background: Nepotism (favoritism) considered as unprofessional behaviors in work life among nursing staff, which is still exists and continues. Aims: Evaluate the effects of nepotism on nursing staff job satisfaction, organizational commitment and intention to quit. Subject: all available nursing staff (n=1647) at Main Assiut University hospital (MAUH). Deign: Descriptive correlation, Study tools: Two tools were used, tool I: included personal characteristics sheet, tool II: included 4 parts; 1 st part: measuring nepotism perception (n=37), 2 nd part: effect of nepotism on individual job satisfaction (n=5), 3 rd part: effect of nepotism on organizational commitment (n=8), 4 th part: effect of nepotism on intention to quit (n=5) among nursing staff. Results: the majority of the nurse managers (83.5 %) had low level of nepotism perception, while the majority of staff nurses had a high level (88.2%). There was a highly significant positive correlation of nepotism with intention to quit, and there was a highly significant negative correlation with job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Conclusion: The findings of the study indicated that, nepotism had highly statistically adverse effects on almost all dimensions of the current study (nepotism paralyzed individual job satisfaction, and leading to intention to quit among nursing staff. Recommendation:The management of the hospital should pay attention to the workplace conditions, nepotism, and organizational commitment, additional research to teach managers how to cultivate inventiveness and creativity in order to perform at their best, rather than employing nepotism.
