INTRODUCTIONThe grip strength test serves as a tool that predicts muscular strength as well as endurance. It is also a prognostic marker asso ciated with diabetes, cardiovascular events and mortality. 1-3 A recent patient data pooled meta analysis showed that in patients with cardiac disorders, grip strength predicted cardiac death, all cause death, and hospitalization due to heart failure. 4 A Mendelian randomization study in vestigating the causal relationship between grip and health outcomes demonstrated that a 1 kg increase in genetically determined grip strength reduced the odds ratio of coronary artery disease
