Flight simulation has proved to be a very important and vital tool in the Aircraft Industry today. It can be employed for the evolution of Aircraft Systems and for Proving Design Concepts. Engineering Simulations are used as design aids for a planned aircraft program and these are used to evaluate the aircraft systems and to improve, validate their designs. The mathematical models of the aircraft or the flying vehicle platform and its systems play very significant role in the Engineering simulation framework. An Engineering simulation framework has been developed to include a flying vehicle platform, Navigation system and Ground based sensor systems to aid the precision take-off and landing in all weather conditions. Precise Simulation models of Navigation system including its inherent errors on board the flying vehicle; various ground based sensors based on their accuracy, performance have been added to the Engineering Framework to aid the system design of a comprehensive precision Take-off and Landing system. The simulation framework allows the system engineer to study the variation of the accuracies of sensor characteristics and their effects on the performance of the system before finalizing the elements of the Precision Landing and Take-off (PLTO) System.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
