Studies of the behavior of vibrating crystal plates under the action of external forces and torques are of importance because they afford a means f o r getting at the highly involved problems associated with the deviations in frequency experienced by a crystal subJected t o t h e shock and vibration w h i c h m i g h t be m e t with i n high-acceleration vehicles, such as aircraft, guided missiles, or satellites. By searching out the mechanisms concerned with such frequency variations, methods m y be developed t o minimize o r perhaps indeed eliminate them.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
