This study proposes to determine the significant difference between the average N-gain of the experimental class students and the N-gain average of the control class students on the topic of geometry optics. Samples were students of class X of Public High School 1 Kabangka namely X2 class of 30 students as an experimental class learning model SSCS (Search, Solve, Create, and Share) and class X1 as many as 31 students as the control class with the direct learning model and the instrument of this research is test result of learning. The data were analyzed statistically showed the result of post-test of experimental class students on the subject matter of optical geometry that is obtained the average value of 81,667 while in the control class got the average value of 75,806. There is no difference between a mean score of pre-test of experiment class student with a mean value of pre-test of control class student on the topic of optical geometry at α = 0,05. The average post-test grade of the experimental class is significantly better than the mean post-test of the control class students on the subject matter of optical geometry at α = 0.05.
This research is caused by online learning, so that appropriate teaching materials are needed to support learning. This study aims to develop e-physics with the CinQASE model assisted by a professional flip pdf application that meets the valid, practical and effective criteria. This study uses the R&D (Research and Development) research method with a 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The research object was the students of Senior High School Tahfidzul Qur'an Mu'adz Bin Jabal, which amounted to 54 students. Data collection techniques used validation sheets, questionnaires, and written tests. The feasibility e-module is assessed based on the validity of the e-module as seen from the assessment of 3 validators, the practicality e-module is seen from the evaluation of student responses, and the effectiveness e-module is seen from the increase in learning outcomes. The results showed that the CinQASE e-module with the professional flip pdf application developed was declared feasible with a validity result of 3.67 with a very good category. The results of the practicality of the e-module from student responses are 3.20 for class X-Putra and 3.21 for Class X-Putri with a very good category. The effectiveness results with n gain values of 0.34 (X-Putra) and 0.35 (X-Putri) are included in the good category. The developed e-module is declared feasible and has met the valid, practical, and effective criteria
This study aimed to analyze students' conceptual understanding by using a multi-representation assisted discovery learning model in measurement. This research was conducted in Public High School 1 Kendari. This research is a quasi-experimental study using a one-group pre-post test design. The research method consisted of a conceptual comprehension test using a caliper and a screw micrometer in an essay in the form of a multi-representational test on long measurements. The analysis showed an increase in conceptual understanding between the pre-test and post-test with an average pre-test score of 16.24 (SD = 14) and a post-test of 61.4 (SD = 21). These results indicate an increase in students' understanding of concepts after learning with an average N-gain increase of 0.5 (SD = 0.2) in the medium category. It also obtained the most significant increase in students' understanding of the indicators mentioned parts caliper and micrometer with an N-gain average of 0.6 in the medium category.
Abstract-This research aims to describe an increase the activity of learning and concept understanding of physics science by application the concept teaching model to the concept attainment approach on the subject matter work and energy. The research is classroom action research with the subject is grade VIIIF SMPN 5 Kendari which consisting of 33 students. Data obtained from the observation sheet and the concept understanding tests. Technique of data analysis is calculates the average score learning activities, the average value of the concept understanding and determine student learning success each cycle. Results of the research that this approach can increase the activity of student learning and concept understanding of physics science at students. An average score of learning in cycle I of a 2,8 increase to 3,5 on cycle II. The same as, the average value of concept understanding physics science in cycle I of 66,9 increased to 79,2 on cycle II. The percentage of student learning success is also on the cycle I of 48,5% increase to 87,9% in cycle II, with a value of KKM determinated from school of 70. Thus, the application of the concept attainment approach is one of the right alternative solutions to increase of the students concept understanding of physics science especially on the subject matter work and energy. Therefore, expected that teacher can implemented the concept attainment approach in concept physics that contains the definition of the concept, characteristics, atributtes and relationships between concepts are the students more easily understand the concept of physics well. Keywords: concept teaching model, concept attainment approach, learning activity, concept understanding.
This research is Classroom Action Research, which includes planning, action, observation, and reflection. Actions are made to obtain an overview of the application of guided discovery methods in improving the skills of the physical science process conducted in two cycles. This research was implemented in SMA Negeri 1 Kolaka class XI IPA 1 in the second semester of academic year 2015/2016. The results showed that in the first cycle the average score is 30.9; the second cycle got an average score is 91.8. The increase of the score in each cycle is 78.18%. It means that there is an improvement in the Physics Science Process skills of Learners. Furthermore, the observation of teacher and learners activity shows the implementation. This research concludes that the applicated of guided discovery method can improve the Physics Science Process skill in second-grade students of IPA 1 at SMA Negeri 1 Kolaka by observation, formulating problems, proposing hypotheses, planning problem solving, conducting experiments, observing and collecting data, data analysis, drawing a conclusion.
