This research aims to describe the development steps and the appropriateness of multicultural education module based on the character of patriotism and nationalism in thematic learning for students in 2nd grade Elementary School. This is a research and development applying Borg and Gall design. The trial was conducted on 10 students of 2nd grade in Muhammadiyah Bodon Elementary School. The data collection techniques in this research were interviews, observations, module feasibility assessments by experts, teachers’ assessment, and questionnaire of learners’ responses. The eligibility of the multicultural education module is shown by the result of the assessment by the validation experts at the time of FGD. The validation by media expert scored of 72, the validation by learning expert scored of 74, and the validation by language expert scored of 60. The limited product trial were conducted in class II A, based on the students' assessment get the mean score of 37.5, while the assessment by the teacher scored 70 , both are very good category. The field trial were conducted in class II B, based on the students' score, obtained 36.94 score, and 76 from the teachers; both are very good category.
Penelitian ini bertujan untuk mengetahui prosedur pengembangan dan kelayakan dari media pembelajaran Kayaku (Kayanya Alam Negeriku) berbasis STEM. Produk yang dikembangkan diharapkan dapat meningkatkan literasi dasar peserta didik kelas IV sekolah dasar pada tema 9 subtema 2 pembelajaran 1. Penelitian pengembangan yang digunkanadalah Research and Development (RnD) dengan menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE. Hasil penilaian yag didapat dari uji validasi ahli memperoleh rerata 92,80. Hasil yang diperoleh dari respon guru mendapat rerata 80. Adapun yang dihasilkan dari penilaian peserta didik yaitu uji coba kelompok kecil memperoleh rerata 93,33 dan uji coba kelompok besar memperoleh rerata 90,74. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh dari penilaian uji validasi ahli serta uji coba lapangan yaitu guru dan peserta didik memperoleh rerata 88,28. Apabila dianalisis menggunakan data kuantitas, maka media kayaku berbasis STEM menunjukkan bahwa media dikategorikan sangat layak digunakan sebagai media dalam proses pembelajaran. Apabila dianalisis menggunakan data kualitatif, maka media kayaku berbasis STEM menunjukkan bahwa media menumbuhkan motivasi belajar bagi peserta didik, melatih membaca dan pemahaman peserta didik, serta menumbuhkan inovasi bagi guru.
The background of this research is fact in the field regarding low knowledge of the community about disaster mitigation. Besides, there is no knowledge material presentation about volcano eruption disaster mitigation that routinely scheduled at schools in disaster prone areas. A media is needed to deliver knowledge material about mitigation and can be integrated in learning. This research aims to develop and determine the feasibility of picture story books about volcano eruption disaster mitigation for elementary school students in disaster prone areas. This is a Research and Development which carried out eight stages. The result of the assessments from the media expert is 85.33 (very good), material expert is 89.6 (very good), language expert is 76 (good), product test is 95.08 (very good), and application test is 88.66 (very good). All assessments average score is 86.93 converted into qualitative data is in the category of "Very Good".
This research aims to identify learning problems and the parents’roles in overcoming learning difficulties of 5<sup>th</sup>-grade students of Muhammadiyah Karangturi Elementary School, Bantul, Yogyakarta. Research participants were six students with learning difficulties, six parents, and four teachers. Selection of subjects used purposive sampling technique. Research object was the parents’ roles in overcoming students’ learning difficulties. This research was a qualitative research with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis technique was the interactive model (data collection, data reduction, data models, and drawing conclusions). The results showed that the problems experienced by students with learning difficulties in Muhammadiyah Karangturi Elementary School were lower than average learning outcomes, slow understanding, and lack of reasonable attitudes, behavior, and emotional symptoms during the learning process. The parents’ roles in overcoming students’ learning difficulties are finding tutoring institutions for children, accompanying children when coming and going home from school, being good listeners, accompanying learning activities at home, taking children on the first day of school, meeting with teachers through parents association, and present at the distribution of learning outcomes report card.
