The ability to think creatively is important to create students who can use mathematical mindset in their daily activities, and in various sciences. The conditions at school this time show us that students still run into problems in resolve math questions which related to mathematical creative thinking ability that finally impact on the result is low for this ability. Therefore, we need strategy for mathematics learning so it can improve mathematical creative thinking ability for students. The strategy that can be applied are through Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, dan Transferring (REACT). This research aims to know the improvement creative thinking mathematical ability for students through react strategy. The type of this research is experimental research with a quantitative approach. The populations in this study are students in class X SMAN 1 Banda Aceh. The sample in this study is students in class X MIA-3 as an experimental class that gets learning with REACT’s strategy, and students in class X MIA-1 as a control class that has conventional learning. The instrument of this research is the questions of pretest and post-test. The quantitative analysis using a test independent sample t-test. Based on the results of data analysis it can be concluded that improvement creative thinking mathematical ability for students by teaching with REACT’s strategy is better than improvement of students' creative thinking skills by teaching conventionally.
Kehidupan manusia tidak terlepas dari sampah dalam menjalani kehidupan sehari-hari. Untuk itu, jika sampah plastik tersebut tidak dikelola dengan baik, makan akan menghasilkan dampak negatif bagi kesehatan dan lingkungan. Untuk itu, artikel ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi kepada masyarakat desa Alue Lhok sebagai solusi untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dengan mengolah sampah plastik menjadi suatu karya yang mempunyai nilai guna dan nilai jual menjadi Ecobrick. Adapun metode yang digunakan untuk mengolah sampah plastik menjadi ecobrick (bangku) diantaranya: mengumpulkan sampah plastik dengan ketentuan tertentu, dicuci, dikeringkan atau dijemur, mengisi botol dengan sampah plastik, supaya padat isian sampah plastik ditekan menggunakan kayu, dan dirakit membentuk suatu karya menggunakan bantuan lakban. Tahap selanjutnya, botol yang sudah dirakit berbentuk bangku dilapisi busa dan diberikan sarung. Hasil dari kegiatan ini mendapatkan respon yang baik di kalangan masyarakat Alue Lhok, selain dapat mengatasi pencemaran lingkungan, juga menambah wawasan masyarakat dalam mengelola sampah plastik, serta menambah sumber pendapatan masyarakat setempat dengan memanfaatkan sampah plastik sebagai bahan utama dalam pembuatan ecobrick bangku.
Alue Naga is an example of a coastal village in the northern city of Banda Aceh which was severely damaged during the earthquake and tsunami in 2004, but until now there has been no maximum environmental improvement and mitigation for this coastal settlement. The ideal initial mitigation study to be carried out for coastal settlements is to analyze the physical vulnerability of housing as a physical structure characteristic that determines the potential damage to disasters. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection through observation, a global positioning system, interviews and questionnaires. Data were analyzed using geographic information system techniques to determine the spatial condition of the area. Assessment of the potential vulnerability of housing in each cluster of Alue Naga settlements is obtained by scoring and weighting methods for variables that contribute to the level of disaster vulnerability, namely the type of building construction, the shape of the ground floor of the building, and the orientation of the building to the coast. The results showed that the potential vulnerability in each cluster was different for each variable being reviewed, there were clusters that were vulnerable, more vulnerable, and very vulnerable to the threat of disasters from the sea. It takes serious action from stakeholders to further improve protection and mitigation against disasters from the sea in the northern coastal settlements of Banda Aceh City with structural mitigation and non-structural mitigation.
AbstrakTerminal bus tipe A merupakan fasilitas publik yang berfungsi sebagai sarana perpindahan moda transportasi antar provinsi. Kota Banda Aceh menjadi kota sebagai tujuan kunjungan utama di Provinsi Aceh, untuk tujuan wisata, pendidikan, maupun bisnis. Oleh karena itu diperlukan adanya terminal bus yang mampu mengakomodir segala kegiatan baik dari segi fungsi maupun visualisasi/estetika. Pemilihan tema Arsitektur Modern dalam perancangan terminal ini diharapkan mampu mengoptimalkan segala fungsi ruang yang menampung kegiatan didalamnya dan juga meperindah bangunan secara visual. Penerapan tema arsitektur modern ini diterapkan pada setiap item dalam perancangan dengan berpedoman pada konsep “the five point of a new architecture” dari Le Corbusier yang membuat kebebasan dan pengembangan fungsi ruang serta estetika bangunan.
