Objective: to analyze the evidence available in the literature on the contributions of the Supervised Internship in nursing training in Brazil and the teaching-learning methods employed. Method: integrative review of the literature, with search of articles published between 2002 and 2016, in PubMed, LILACS, SciELO and Eric databases. Results: Of the 4,699 articles consulted, 14 met the inclusion criteria. The analysis of these studies revealed three thematic categories: the understanding about the role of Supervised Internship; the teaching-learning processes employed; and their contributions to the training of nurses. Final considerations: this is a fundamental element in the academic training, since, depending on the didactic-pedagogical organization, it makes possible the (re) signifi cation of the acquired knowledge throughout the course and realizes the professional competences. The teaching-learning methods are structured by the critical pedagogy, being the active methodologies the main choices of the authors. Objective: To reflect on the contributions of the clinical supervision and preceptorship/tutorship as means to approach and engage nurses of healthcare services in activities related to the Supervised Curricular Internship, discussing conceptual, theoretical, and practical approaches for higher education in nursing. Method: This is a reflection based on the discursive formulation concerning clinical supervision and preceptorship/tutorship. Results: Clinical supervision has been widely used by international healthcare institutions to qualify the work processes of nurses, supporting their self-development. Currently, is has been supporting the work of nurses who are preceptors/tutors and monitors students on clinical internships. Final considerations: The clinical supervision of nursing students features a robust and effective strategy for the development of interns and for the completion of the teaching-service integration.
This study reports the use of data mining tools in order to examine the influence of the methodology used in chemistry lab classes, on the weight attributed by the students to the lab work on learning and own motivation. The answer frequency analysis was unable to discriminate the opinions expressed by the respondents according to the type of the teaching methodology used in the lab classes. Conversely, the data mining approach using k-means clustering models, allowed a deeper analysis of the results, i.e., enabled one to identify the methodology to teach chemistry that, in students' opinion, is important for learning chemistry and increasing their motivation. The sample comprised 3447 students of Portuguese Secondary Schools (1736 in the 10th grade; 1711 in the 11th grade). The k-means Clustering Method was used, with k values ranging between 2 and 4. The main strengths of this study are the methodological approach for data analysis and the fact that the sample was formed by students with different school careers that enables the use of the individual as the unit of analysis.
O presente estudo tem por objetivo avaliar o risco de quedas em idosos autônomos residente em um Programa de Habitação Municipal. A metodologia utilizada foi de pesquisa quantitativa, não experimental, de natureza descritiva e transversal. Foi realizada em uma vila de idosos na cidade de Presidente Prudente, com 26 idosos. Os dados foram obtidos por meio de um questionário sócio demográfico e por meio da aplicação de dois instrumentos. Os dados quantitativos foram analisados por meio da estatística simples e descritiva. Observamos que prevaleceram idosos do sexo masculino, 65,3% possuem mais de 70 anos, o tempo médio de estudo foi de 2,8 anos. Avaliação cognitiva, 46,2% apresentou baixo desempenho, 65,4% dos entrevistados apresentou baixo risco de quedas. Como conclusão, acredita-se que ações interdisciplinares e intersetoriais sejam necessárias para garantir a funcionalidade física e cognitiva da população. Objective: to identify validated instruments that can be used for the functional assessment of elderly persons in Palliative Care. Method: an integrative review focused on identifying instruments for the functional assessment of elderly persons in palliative care was carried out by searching publications in periodicals indexed in seven electronic databases. Descriptors, keywords and Boolean operators were used for a cross-database search in November 2017. A total of 357 abstracts were identified, from which 53 articles were selected for reading, of which 21 met the inclusion criteria. Results: this strategy allowed the identification of eight scales and one test for the functional assessment of elderly persons in palliative care. Conclusion: eight scales and a functional test which also provide guidelines for improving the quality of life of elderly people in palliative care were identified, demonstrating that it is practically impossible to disassociate physical functional performance from social and psychological aspects.
