Communication between speakers and hearer should fulfil maxims in order to have an effective communication and to avoid misunderstanding. In fact, sometimes people blatantly flout the maxims but people mostly have reasons behind that and whenever a maxim is flouted there must be an implicature to save the utterance from simply appearing to be a faulty contribution to a conversation. The importantance of the research is about finding out the dominant flouting of maxims during the conversation between the participants in Hitam Putih talkshow. Besides, the purposes of why flouting the maxim was also displayed as to make this research become more comprehensive. Why a certain dominant maxim was flouted but not another maxim. In analyzing the data, the writer uses Grice's theory on maxim. The data were collected by searching, listening and making the transcripts, watching the record for many times, grouping the conversation, deciding which maxims are flouted based on the criteria, finding the reasons of the flouting. As the result, the writer found that the first most flouted maxim is the Maxim of Quality. The reasons of flouting this maxim are to make a joke and to give a clearer information. In making a joke, a speaker can pretend not to know something, pretend not being honest, and this pretendings are clearly flouting the quality maxim. That is why the quality maxim is flouted to make a joke. Another flouted maxims are also found from the data which are flouting the quantity maxim to give clearer information, to stress something, to avoid unpleasant situation. The relation maxim is also flouted as being polite, and the last the manner maxim is flouted as to make a joke. The characteristic of Indonesian speaker with long winded and not to the point, has in fact influence the flouting the maxim.
In performing utterances, some people do not always want to cooperate because they have certain reasons such as to avoid unpleasant situations, to be polite, and to make jokes. This research was conducted to find out the most dominant flouting and fulfillment of maxim in some speech acts. The theory of cooperative principles and the speech act were used to find out problems. The data were taken from Sarah Sechan talk show. The most flouting maxim was the quantity and manner and the fulfillment of the quality maxim in the assertive-to-tell speech acts.

Di sisi lain, kritik adalah tindakan linguistik yang mungkin dapat menyebabkan konflik dan kecenderungan mengancam muka seseorang. ‘Muka’ meliputi keinginan agar citra diri ini dihargai dan disetujui oleh lawan bicara. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui, strategi kritik Mahfud MD ketika memberikan kritik. A bargaining usually happened in a market, but in this research it happened in marhata sinamot. It was one of the step from Bataknese wedding ceremony that discussed about dowry as one from other topic in marhata sinamot. The imposition is higher when the object to bargain was women with different educational and social status background. The politeness strategy in assertives speech act during the discussion in marhata sinamot was the object of this research. This research was conducted in a qualitative descriptive research method. The analysis and interpretation are carried out at the time the data was collected related to the utterances in marhata sinamot ceremony. A qualitative research is also expected to generate a pattern of language behavior from the cultural domain of this study because a descriptive design of study aimed to describe the social aspects to compile new findings in the context of speech act object of study. Related to cultural domain, this research was categorized as an ethnographic research. Bataknese culture was used since the writer is Bataknese. The subject of the research were the Bataknese people in Sidamanik (a sub-district in North Sumatera, Indonesia). The recorded data were transcribed and classified into its kinds of speech act and politeness strategy. 'Stating' speech act with positive politeness strategy were found as the result of analyzing data. Strategy 2. Exaggerate interest, sympathy, etc with the hearer; Str 4. Use in-group identity markers, 'raja' were the dominant positive politeness found from the utterances. The participants also used the negative politeness strategy which were strategy 5 of showing honor. It was found that participants collaboration between concept of the activity and the concept of Dalihan na tolu that had influenced that dominance. Participants mostly gave statement and exchanging information in the process of bargaining the dowry and the process of discussing the preparation to the upcoming wedding ceremony. This also brought to the result that 'stating' speech act dominantly used in marhata sinamot.
This study aims to find out student perceptions and benefits of the Micro Teaching Course for Teaching Internships at the English Department of HKBP Nommensen University. Researchers used a qualitative descriptive method. The population is seventh semester students of English education, amounting to 20 students. Data was collected through questionnaires and interviews. To collect data, the researcher gave 20 statement in the form of a questionnaire and then distributed them to 20 students and 7 questions through interviews with 10 students. From the results of the questionnaire the researchers concluded that students felt helped by their experiences in microteaching, as many as 20 participants 70% of whom agree and 29,75% strongly agree that microteaching had an effect on increasing their skills in teaching, From the results of the interviews, the researcher also concluded that students' perceptions of the microteaching course had an impact on their teaching practices as evidenced by the students' narrative presentations. Students think that with microteaching students can improve their skills in making and teaching based on lesson plans, skills in explaining material, time management and increasing self-confidence in teaching.
