Indonesia is one of developing countries with the levels and values for foods of animal origin consumption projected to increase continuously. However, currently Indonesia has problems in foods of animal origin consumption, such as low consumption levels and expenditure share, declining consumption levels and expenditure share, and high prices of foods of animal origin. In addition, there are inaccuracies in supply and demand projection for foods of animal origin in Indonesia. The aims of this study are to : (1) analyze the demand pattern for foods of animal origin in Indonesia and (2) project the demand for foods of animal origin in Indonesia. This study uses the data from the National Socioeconomic Survey (Susenas) for 2014 to 2018, with Log-linear (double log) as a demand model, and Seemingly Unrelated Regression as estimation method. The results show that demand patterns for foods of animal origin in Indonesia has differences, both in terms of consumption levels, prices, total expenditure, and expenditure share for foods of animal origin in Indonesia. Demand for foods of animal origin in Indonesia influenced by Human Development Index (HDI), preferences and time trends and also influenced and responsive to changes in prices and income. During the next six years, 2019 to 2024, demand for foods of animal origin in Indonesia will increase due to the growth of prices, income, HDI, preferences, and time trends.
