Background: After schools, colleges and university campuses opened after 290days of restrictions and lockdown imposed in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic in Kerala colleges opened from Jan 2021.its necessary to understand about the corona disease and it's also essential for controlling the spread of disease knowing students' knowledge, attitude, and practices (KAP) towards COVID-19. Materials and Methods: It's a cross-section study done on students after reopening of colleges and online Google questions regarding the KAP of the population about COVID-19 was asked, and participants' demographic characteristics and source of information regarding COVID-19 were recorded and analysed. Results: We studied 1000 students after college reopening, majority are in age group 20-23yrs, 85% as adequate knowledge, 64 had positive attitude and 80% are with safety practices. 95.4% student's knows the spread, signs and symptoms, risk factors, co-morbidity of disease, That have slight negative attitude as more than half 51% as history of group gathering after college reopens 70% Good practices of COVID protective measures 98.7% using N95 mask. Conclusions: Majority of students as good knowledge, positive attitude, and good practice. Suggested for online theory classes and small group practical classes, hostel restriction's for better health of students in college.
Background: One of the preventive measures of COVID-19 is to take two dose of COVID-19 vaccine. India now second wave is spreads in community and daily increasing its number in infection and death, our study concentrates on the COVID infection to vaccination completed Health Care worker. Materials and Methods: 195 staff members of secondary medical care centre in rural area are studied, out of which vaccination taken are 182 are included data's are collected by Cross section questionnaire's and data from office these are tabulated and analysed. Results: 82(93.3%) of staffs in secondary centre are taken vaccination against COVID-19.post vaccination COVID infection seen in 6 persons, among 6 one as taken only one dose of vaccine, symptoms are milder and only one requires hospital admission. Conclusions: Milder symptoms are seen in post vaccinated staff, vaccine as to cover larger population to control pandemic infection, study as to do in infectivity of post vaccinated infected people.
Background:The very first piece of information about the Covid positivity causes much impact on the psychological and emotional status of the pregnant woman Aim: The aim of the study is to assesses the psychological and emotional aspects of covid infection on pregnant ladies by observing the prevalence rate of anxiety, depression and mental stress Materials and Method: This is a cross-sectional study with a sample size of 172, conducted at a tertiary covid care centre in Kannur District, for a period of 11 months. A DASS-21 Scoring system is adapted to assess the psychological and emotional status [1] Results: Though 24.42% are asymptomatic among the covid positive cases, most of them are worried about the prospects of the disease 28.1% had depression, 26.4% had anxiety and 11.9% had stress symptoms. The prevalence of these psychological aspects is more among educated and unemployed cases Conclusion: Covid-19 infection has a high implication on the psychological and emotional status of a pregnant lady. Psychological counseling is essential to all pregnant ladies, which should start from the very first instance of covid positivity.
