Behavioural assessment of cultivars adapted to climate and soil variations is essential for recommending genetic materials to producers, achieving higher profitability, and, mainly, targeting regional growth. The aim of this study was to evaluate the agronomic performance of upland rice cultivars in different cropping periods and Cerrado vegetation soil in the southern region of the state of Tocantins. The experiments were conducted in a field at the Chaparral Farm and at the Experimental Station of the Federal University of Tocantins in the agricultural years of 2008/2009, 2009/2010, 2010/2011, 2011/2012, and 2012/2013 with cultivars BRS-Bonança, BRS-Primavera, and BRSMG-Conai. A randomized block experimental design was used with four replications in a factorial scheme of 3 × 5, comprising three genotypes and five years. The evaluated characteristics were as follows: number of days to flowering, plant height, weight of hundred grains, and grain yield. The highest upland rice yield was observed in the cropping period of 2012/13, which also had the highest volume and better distribution of rainfall; flowering time was lesser and greater for BRSMG-Conai and BRS-Bonança cultivars, respectively. The BRS-Primavera cultivar showed the highest grain yield in different years in Cerrado soil in the southern region of the state of Tocantins.
ABSTRACT:Common bean was originated from the Americas and has shown enormous socioeconomic importance as the main source of feeding in many countries. Due to adoption of technologies such as irrigation, the bean has been cultivated at different times throughout the year, however, the lack of cultivars adapted to the climatic conditions of the Cerrado of Tocantins has limited obtaining best yields at the time of the season. Thus, the aim of this work was to evaluate the performance of common bean genotypes in three cropping years in Cerrado soils. The experiments were conducted in the field at the Experimental Station of the Federal University of Tocantins in the dry season of the years 2010, 2011 and 2012. The experimental design was a randomized block with four replications in a 8 x 3 factorial, consisting of eight genotypes and three years. The evaluated characteristics were plant height, the first pod height, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, weight of hundred grains and grain yield. The Princesa genotype stood out with yields above 3,000 kg ha -1 in more than a year of cultivation, demonstrating its potential for cropping systems in the State of Tocantins. The genotype BRS-Esplendor was the only genotype that showed stable behavior for all traits.
ResumoObjetivou-se neste estudo avaliar o comportamento de 10 cultivares de feijão comum cultivados em solos de Cerrado. Para cada ano (2010 e 2012) foi instalado um experimento com delineamento estatístico adotado blocos casualizados com quatro repetições. Neste estudo utilizou os cultivares IAC Galante, IAC Centauro, IAC Una, IAC Carioca Eté, IPR Tiziu, IPR Colibri, IPR Eldorado, IPR Corujinha, IPR Siriri e IPR Juriti. Para simular condição deficiência de fósforo no solo de cerrado aplicou no plantio 20 kg ha -1 de P 2 O 5 em ambos os anos, sendo que a adubação de nitrogênio e potássio foi feita de acordo com a recomendação para a cultura. Avaliou-se altura de planta, número de vagens por planta, número de grãos por vagem, massa de cem grãos e produtividades de grãos. Concluiu-se que a máxima produtividade de grãos foi alcançada no período da entressafra 2012 com 1.347 kg ha -1 (IAC-Carioca Eté) e no ano de 2010 com 789 kg ha -1 (IPR-Colibri). O cultivar IAC Galante teve menor produtividade de grãos no dois anos de cultivo. Palavras-chave: Phaseolus vulgaris, estresse mineral, fósforo, entressafra.
