Anemia in the postpartum period may be associated with an increased prevalence of shortness of breath, fatigue, palpitations and maternal infections, especially of the urinary tract. The effect of anemia during the puerperium is the occurrence of uterine subvolution which can cause post-partum hemorrhage, eases puerperal infection, decreases breastfeeding and it is easy to develop maternal infection. Measurement of hemoglobin levels, knowledge, provision of materials, training in eating menu settings, monitoring and evaluation. The audience in this devotion are postpartum mothers with postpartum >1 week from PMB R. Harianja, T. Hutapea, Hendrayatni, and Ika Juliana in the Simalungun Regency and surrounding areas, who are anemic and willing to be trained on food menu management totaling around 40 people. Out of 52 postpartum mothers whose hemoglobin levels were measured, 40 experienced anemia and attended training activities on dietary management and blood supplementation. Postpartum mothers who participated in the service activities consisted of 14 primiparous people, and 26 multiparous people. Measurement of Hb levels obtained initial measurement results of 9.2 gr% - 10.8 g%, with the category of mild anemia. Interviews with several postpartum mothers, some routinely drank tea 1-2 / day. The information is needed about how to consume ferrum, related to the culture of drinking tea and it is hoped that postpartum mothers who have attended training become agents for other postpartum mothers.
The post partum period is a natural event after childbirth and during this period there are physical and psychological changes in the form of fear and worry about achieving a new role as mother. In the post partum period, there are several minor psychological disorders that hinder the achievement of this role, including the postpartum blues. The psychological changes of each person are different so that the postpartum blues is often undiagnosed which as a result can progress to postpartum depression. The incidence of postpartum blues ranges from 40-85%. Efforts that can be made to overcome the postpartum blues include aromatherapy. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of lavender essential oil aromatherapy on postpartum blues. This type of study was quasi-experimental with a pretest and postest one group design. The study was conducted on 20 post-cesarean mothers aged 15-49 years, parity 1-5, term pregnancy, babies born with an Apgar score of 7-10, no history of asthma, allergies or dermatitis to flowers/plants, able to read and write well in Indonesian, and an EPDS score of 10-12 (between the third to the fifth day). Sampling with consecutive sampling. EPDS score measurements were performed three times (baseline, 7 th day, and 14 th day). Data analysis used the Shapiro Wilk, Friedman, and posthoc Wilcoxon tests with α = 0.05 and β = 80%. The mean age of the respondents was 27.
The antenatal classes are means of learning activity for pregnant woman, together in a group which aimed to increase their knowledge and skills. During the labor process, there are various problems that may occur in the mother, one of which is labor pain. Efforts that can be made to reduce the pain problems are through the implementation of antenatal classes. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of antenatal classes and the intensity of labor pain during the active phase of labor. This is an observasional analytic study with cohort design in 33 mothers who attended the antenatal classes. The sampling tehnique that used is consecutive sampling and the data were analyzed by chi-square. As the results of data analysis on the relationship between the antenatal class and the intensity of labor pain during the first stage of active phase, the value of p = 0.000. The P value < 0.05. The results of data analysis obtained that there was a relationship between the antenatal class and the intensity of the labor pain during the first stage of the active phase. Midwives are expected to be able to increase the quality of antenatal classes and can attract the interest of the community, especially pregnant woman to actively participate antenatal classes.
