Internalization of values-based character education on student himself can be done through an objective and transparent assessment system. This will be useful to foster honesty, discipline, and responsibility of students. Penilaian yang transparan harus diketahui pelaksanaan penilaiannya, dari aspek nilai yang didapat, dasar pengambilan keputusan, pengolahan nilai sampai hasil akhirnya tertera, dan dapat diterima. Dengan sistem penilaian yang demikian akan melahirkan mahasiswa yang memiliki karakter dalam membantu pembentukan mental yang kuat. Mental yang kuat merupakan prasyarat untuk menjadi manusia yang berkualitas dan kompetitif.
This study aims to prove the construct validity of the lesson plan assessment instrument in primary schools. In addition, the purpose of this study is to estimate the reliability of lesson plan instruments in primary schools. This research uses a descriptive quantitative approach that is carried out on professional teacher education students at Universitas Negeri Gorontalo, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta and Universitas Islam Negeri Makassar. The subjects of this study were 516 randomly selected students. Data collection is done through documentation of the results of assessments from the field supervisor of each student. The data analysis technique used is confirmatory factor analysis and composites score reliability. The results showed that the lesson plan assessment instrument was measured by 25 items spread over 4 indicators. All items in the lesson plan assessment instrument indicators are construct valid after being tested through confirmatory factor analysis. In addition, the lesson plan assessment instrument in this study was reliable and had a fairly high construct reliability coefficient of 0.92.
The assessment model of student field practice is essential to assess the achievement of students' competence as a prospective teacher. It is also important in Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teaching Training. The objective of this research is to identify the available assessment model in sequence to find causes why do the lecturers find difficulty in assessing the students' practice and the expected remedies. This research used concurrent mixed method with concurrent triangulation design. Data was collected using questionnaires, focus group discussion, and documentation. Data was analysed in quantitative using descriptive statistic and in qualitative using Miles & Hubberman method. The result shows that in reality, there are many weaknesses in the assessment model. They are seen in several aspects; from validity and reliability aspects, empirical evident is not found; from objective aspect, layout instrument, guideline, and scoring rubric are unclear and not detail; from the systematic aspect, assessment sequence is unstructured; while from practicality aspect, the result is not optimal. The desired expectation is the provision of a simple assessment that is valid, reliable, objective, and easy to understand as well as practical to be used.
Teachers’ performance is one of crucial topics in education and become a global problem in improving the quality of education in many countries, including the performance of Islamic Education teachers. Therefore, this research aims to evaluate Islamic Education teachers’ performance at SMA (Sekolah Menengah Atas/Senior High School) in Gorontalo Province. The method used in this research consisted of an evaluation research with countenance stake model. The samples were 66 Islamic Education teachers taken by purposive sampling technique. Data were obtained through observation, interview, and document study. The finding of this research shows that the Islamic Education teachers’ performance in learning planning is good. Teachers are able to design a good learning process, although the ability in selecting methods and strategies, selecting media and learning source and composing the assessment component in evaluating the learning should be improved. Because those three components are still in enough category. The performance of teachers in the implementation of learning is in good category, despite there are still some measured components that should be improved such as by doing elaboration activity, doing assessment process and furthermore program. Therefore, explicitly shows that Islamic Education teachers in Gorontalo Province performance should be evaluated. It aims to the professional development and the carrier improvement as a teacher.
The purpose of this study was to describe the quality of school exam questions based on the 1-parameter model, 2-parameters model, and 3-parameters model of the elementary school examination in Bontomarannu District, Gowa Regency. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research. The sample of this study was 237 sheets of elementary school participants' answer sheets. The data of this study were collected using documentation collection techniques. Based on the 1-parameter model, in the aspect of difficulty level, as much as 80% of elementary school exam items are in the good category, and 20% are in the bad category. Then on the 2-parameter model, on the aspect of item discrimination, as much as 55% of elementary school exam items are in the good category, and 45% are in the bad category. Finally, in the 3-parameter model, in the aspect of the guessing factor as much as 25% the items of the elementary school exam are in the good category, and 75% are in the bad category.
