<p>The main meaning of decision-making by the headmaster is an act issuing a decision that is both tactical and operational such as planning programs to be achieved, implementation strategies and problem-solving strategies, through a decision based on the election results of several solution alternatives decided to achieve madrasah goals. The decision-making activities include<br />problem identification, problem formulation, and alternative selection decisions based on calculations and the various impacts that may arise. In the stage of decision making implementation, the headmaster of the madrasah as a leader must make many routine decisions in order to control activities in accordance with the plans. While in control stage that includes monitoring,<br />inspection, and assessment of the implementation results was performed to evaluate the implementation of the decisions.<br /><br /><strong>Abstrak</strong></p><p><strong></strong><br />Hakikat pengambilan keputusan oleh kepala madrasah adalah tindakan dalam mengeluarkan keputusan yang bersifat taktis maupun operasional seperti memuat program yang ingin dicapai, strategi pelaksanaannya dan strategi pe-<br />mecahan masalah, melalui suatu keputusan yang didasarkan pada hasil pemilihan beberapa alternatif masalah yang telah ditetapkan untuk pencapaian<br />tujuan madrasah. Pembuatan keputusan tersebut mencakup kegiatan identifikasi masalah, perumusan masalah, dan pemilihan alternatif keputusan berdasarkan perhitungan dan berbagai dampak yang mungkin timbul. Dalam tahap<br />implementasi atau operasionalnya, kepala madrasah sebagai pimpinan harus membuat banyak keputusan rutin dalam rangka mengendalikan kegiatan sesuai dengan rencana dan kondisi yang berlaku. Sedangkan dalam tahap pengawasan yang mencakup pemantauan, pemeriksaan, dan penilaian terhadap<br />hasil pelaksanaan dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi pelaksanaan dari pembuatan keputusan yang telah dilakukan.<br /><br /></p>
This study aimed to review the implementation of education management standard for the development of private Islamic high school. This is the case study in Gorontalo City (one of big city in Indonesia). This study investigates the process of program enforcement, such as the management of curriculum section and learning activities, students, teachers and staffs, facilities, monetary sections, culture and school environment, as well as public relation and partnership. Data were collected by observation, interview, and the documentation. The result showed that the standard implementation of education management under the guidance of private Islamic high school has been conducted even there are some management components, which are not yet well conducted as the standard. The challenges are the low interest of parents to enroll their children at madrasah, unrepresentative service, inefficient financial planning, government and foundation policy, free education program, public relation program concern more on an internal program, and also the lack of parents' knowledge about Islamic high school. The potencies of Islamic high school such as religion curriculum, extracurricular program, and complete facilities should be optimized.
The assessment model of student field practice is essential to assess the achievement of students' competence as a prospective teacher. It is also important in Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teaching Training. The objective of this research is to identify the available assessment model in sequence to find causes why do the lecturers find difficulty in assessing the students' practice and the expected remedies. This research used concurrent mixed method with concurrent triangulation design. Data was collected using questionnaires, focus group discussion, and documentation. Data was analysed in quantitative using descriptive statistic and in qualitative using Miles & Hubberman method. The result shows that in reality, there are many weaknesses in the assessment model. They are seen in several aspects; from validity and reliability aspects, empirical evident is not found; from objective aspect, layout instrument, guideline, and scoring rubric are unclear and not detail; from the systematic aspect, assessment sequence is unstructured; while from practicality aspect, the result is not optimal. The desired expectation is the provision of a simple assessment that is valid, reliable, objective, and easy to understand as well as practical to be used.
This study aims to review the implementation of the management of culture and environment of madrasah and the challenges faced, especially the private Madrasah at Gorontalo. The method used in this study is a naturalistic-qualitative study. The data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation. The findings obtained showed that the culture and environment at the private Madrasah Ibtidaiyah at Gorontalo were various in physical culture and behavioural culture. The physical culture can be seen from the physical appearance of madrasah which has different characteristics. The form of physical culture involved can be seen from the facilities, school building with fence, motto, and writing in the wall which support the development of expected culture. The behavioural culture can be seen from religious culture, discipline culture, and the implementation of the rules, achievement and competition culture, reading and clean culture. The implementation of the management of culture and environment of madrasah is in line with the vision, mission, and the goals of the school realized in the form of programs regarding the creation of culture and environment of madrasah by improving the participation of all people in madrasah in order to optimize the facilities which support cultural values that become the priority of each private Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Gorontalo. In order to solve the problems, the awareness and commitment of people in madrasah are totally required especially in the fixing of the learning system and the enforcement of disciplines, which cultural values are important and unimportant. Besides that, the harmonious cooperation among all people in madrasah is essentially needed in managing the culture and environment of madrasah to elevate the competitiveness.
