With the Covid 19 pandemic, Sunday school activities need to adapt to the use of technology, so that Sunday schools can still teach God's Word to children even though they cannot go to church. Two methods of teaching use technology, namely asynchronous and synchronous. Asynchronous is independent learning that is not limited by time and the platform used includes YouTube, email, WhatsApp, etc., where there is no direct interaction between educators and students. While synchronous is learning that allows direct interaction at the same time between educators and students, the platforms used include google meet, zoom, video calls, etc. The composition of the use of asynchronous and synchronous use in teaching in Sunday School needs to pay attention to several things to achieve effective learning, including the content to be taught, the ability of teachers to use technology, children's learning style, and goals to be achieved, to be right on target.
Abstract. The purpose of this study was to describe the effectiveness of learning using ARCS motivation in Christian Religious Education subjects 1st grade of the elementary school. The design used in this study was a quasi experimental design and nonequivalent control group design method with 57 research subjects in 1st grade of Charis Christian Elementary School. Learning models with ARCS motivation design as independent variables and learning outcomes as dependent variables. Through testing the difference between independent samples T-Test between the control class and the experimental class (ARCS), it was proved that there were significant differences in learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class t (57) = 4,050; p <0.05. Based on the results of the independent sample T-Test analysis, a significant value (Sig. (2 tailed) = 0.000) was obtained between the experimental class and the control class. From the results of this study it could be concluded that the implementation of ARCS motivation design can significantly improve learning outcomes in Christian Religious Education subjects in 1st grade of the elementary school.
Abstract. This study aimed to examine factors that motivate students majoring in Christian Religious Education (CRE) to have career maturity as prospective CRE teachers and motivation oriented towards achieving goals in process of becoming a teacher. This research was conducted using a quantitative approach with the ex post facto method. The results showed that the locus of control and achievement goal-oriented students had a 53.8% influence on the career maturity of CRE teacher candidates. It could be concluded that prospective CRE teachers need to have achievement goal oriented and locus of control so that they are able to direct every action and encourage themselves to achieve goals.
Parenting adolescents during the pandemic is a considerably challenging endeavour. The parenting style of families constitutes a crucial factor in the shaping of adolescent characters and spirituality. Family is primary socialization through which adolescents develop their character and spirituality. Parenting patterns in adolescents have a significant impact on their personality and spirituality. This is evidenced in the love of God. This research employed an ex post facto design. The results revealed that parenting styles families adopted during the pandemic impacted adolescent characters and spirituality. The data analysis showed an interaction between parenting style variables and adolescent characters and the spirituality of Batak adolescents indicated by the R square value of 97.1%.
During the pandemic, Sunday School activities have challenges: Sunday school teachers are not familiar with technology, children are not used to technology and online meetings. This research was conducted by simple random sampling in several churches in East Java in the Middle class. The total population is 60 children, and the sample taken is 52 children. Data analysis measures the relationship between variables using a correlation test and the magnitude of the influence between variables. This study shows that a teacher can start the Sunday school activities with asynchronous learning during the pandemic using YouTube and WhatsApp media combined with engaged learning strategies that can make children feel involved.
