The mental health of those whose rights have been taken away: An essay on the mental health of indigenous peoples in the face of the 2019 Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) outbreak
The COVID-19 pandemic is a complex and multifaceted event, and it is even argued that it should be seen as a syndemic and not a pandemic . Its impacts will still be felt over the years and, perhaps, are irreparable in some aspects. It is essential to mobilize Governments, civil society and non-governmental organizations to outline measures to combat school dropout and social inclusion.
RESUMOApesar do destaque do PBL como alternativa para um processo eficaz e consubstanciado de ensino e aprendizagem, ainda se carece de uma análise aprofundada das fragilidades e pontos fortes desta práxis. O PBL desenvolve competências como comunicação, pensamento crítico, tomada de decisão, avaliação constante do próprio desempenho e auxilia na elaboração de pensamento reflexivo e crítico. Contudo, o método exige muito do professor, já que este não tem como prevê as respostas que os alunos fornecerão, colocando-o em uma situação na qual deve se envolver constantemente no processo; as discussões podem divergir do currículo e do planejamento docente e alguns discentes podem ter dificuldades de se adequar ao novo modelo. Apesar das vantagens inerentes ao PBL, refletir suas fragilidades se faz necessário uma vez que suscita oportunidades de aperfeiçoamento do método e adequação às realidades locais.Palavras-Chave: Educação Médica; Metodologias Ativas; PBL. ABSTRACT despite of the PBL's prominence as an alternative to an effective and consolidated process of teaching and learning, there is still a need for an in-depth analysis of the weaknesses and strengths of this praxis. The PBL develops skills such as communication, critical thinking, decision making, constant evaluation of one's own performance and helps in the elaboration of reflexive and critical thinking. However, the method requires a lot of the teacher, since the teacher does not have as predicted the answers that the students will provide, placing him in a situation in which he must be constantly involved in the process; discussions may diverge from curriculum and teacher planning and some students may have difficulty adapting to the new model. Despite the inherent advantages of PBL, reflecting its weaknesses is necessary since it offers opportunities to improve the method and adapt to local realities.
