Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis tumbuhan obat yang digunakan oleh suku Dayak Lundayeh dan untuk mengetahui kualitas booklet tumbuhan obat dilihat dari segi kelayakan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model pengembangan Borg & Gall (1983) yang dilakukan sampai tahap ke 7. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 21 tumbuhan yang digunakan oleh suku Dayak Lundayeh sebagai obat dan tumbuhan tersebut terbagi dalam 13 famili. Dari 13 famili yang digunakan sebagai obat, tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae dan family Zingiberaceae yang paling banyak digunakan. Hasil dari identifikasi jenis tumbuhan obat, kemudian dikembangkan menjadi booklet. Selanjutnya dilakukan validasi terhadap booklet oleh ahli materi, ahli media dan ahli bahasa. Hasil penilaian ahli materi mendapatkan persentase kelayakan 93,3% dengan kriteria sangat layak, ahli media mendapatkan persentase 85% dengan kriteria layak, dan ahli bahasa mendapatkan persentase 93,3% dengan kriteria sangat layak. Pada uji lapangan awal mendapatkan nilai persentase kelayakan 98,8% dengan kriteria sangat layak sedangkan pada uji lapangan utama mendapatkan nilai persentase kelayakan sebesar 99,55% dengan kriteria sangat layak.
Abstrak: Perkembangan zaman dan teknologi menuntut manusia untuk selalu berkembang, begitu juga dengan dunia pendidikan. Sebagai akibat dari perkembangan tersebut maka kebijakan – kebijakan pendidikan pun terus mengalami perubahan. Salah satunya adalah dengan diterapkannya kurikulum baru yaitu kurikulum 2013. Kurikulum ini memberikan wacana untuk memperkenalkan siswa – siswi sekolah dasar dalam berfikir secara ilmiah sejak dini yaitu melalui suatu metode yang disebut dengan pendekatan saintifik. Namun, belum banyak guru sekolah dasar yang mengetahui tentang berfikir secara ilmiah atau saintifik. Oleh karena itu pelatihan tentang penerapan strategi pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik dilaksanakan supaya para guru sekolah dasar memiliki wawasan tentang pendekatan saintifik sehingga mereka menjadi guru – guru yang profesional.Abstract: The development of era, science, and techology requires the society to develop as well, and so do the education. As the result of those developments, there are many new policies especially in educations that have been changed and renewed. One of the new policies is the implementation of a new curriculum called as curriculum 2013. This new curriculum provides a new discourse in introducing students especially elementary school students with scientific thinking in their early age through a method called as a scientific approach. However, there are many elementary school teachers who experience lack of information about scientific thinking and how to teach student scientifically. Therefore a training on the implementation of teaching strategy with scientific approach is important for teachers in order to give information and improve teachers’ profesionalism.
Ethnobotany is a study that is related to plants and their use. This study is based on the reality that human kinds cannot be separated from their nature. Interestingly, different tribes has different ways in using natural resources. In in Indonesia, study ethnobotany has enriched the variety of ethnobiology study. This is because Indonesia has various tribes and each tribe has their own ways in interacting with their nature, including the way they use plants for daily life. One of tribes that has been studied is Tidung. Tidung is a tribe that inhabits the north area of Kalimantan, Indonesia. This tribe is using plants for medicine, spice, and ceremony. This study has been done by interviewing people who are Tidung tribe. The result shows that there are 20 medicinal plant species, 16 spice plant species, and eight ceremonial plant species. Mostly, the Tidung tribe use plants for medicine which means that this tribe highly depends on the nature of mainataining their health.
Waste is very serious problem, especially in the Tarakan area. One of the ways to manage waste is through empowering the young generation in 4R-based waste managing (reduce, reuse, recycle and replace). This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach through the type of pre-experiment. This study measures the knowledge, skills and attitudes of students in Department of Elementary Teacher School in University of Borneo Tarakan. The pre-experiment research design carried out was one pretest-posttest group on observing student knowledge, and one shot case study on observing skills and attitudes. aspects of knowledge obtained an average before the activity of 50,625 and the average after activity amounted to 79,13889. On the skill aspect, the results obtained on a 1-5 Likert scale on a reduce of 4.5; reuse of 4.25; recycle 4.12; and replace 3.98. The attitude aspect was obtained at 80% in affective, and 76.5% in conative.
There are correlation between science literacy and students' curiosity indirectly. Students who have view in science literacy usually have high curiosity. Therefore, this research has been done to find out the correlation between science literacy and students/ curiosity, especially in ecosystem topic. The study was done at SMA Negeri 3 Tarakan and the sample are 36 eleventh grade students of IPA. Sample of this research was selected using simple random sampling. The data that has been collected was then analyzed using product moment correlation. The result showed that there are 53% of students have view in science literacy. Meanwhile, there are 78% of students have high curiosity. After that, the test on correlation between those two aspects showed that there are correlation between science literacy and curiosity with correllation coeficient 0.424. It can be concluded that there are correlation between science literacy and students' curiosity.
