The article presents the purpose, methods and results of studying a new variety of soft winter wheat Stepnyachka 1. The new variety was created using modern methods of traditional (classical), as well as haploid and marker breeding. The article presents a botanical description of a new variety of soft winter wheat, a variety of lutescens. Stepnyachka 1 is a productive variety, the average grain yield for four years of study (2019–2022) was 9.42 t/ha, which is 1.51 t/ha higher than the Grom standard, the maximum yield is 12.80 t/ha. Despite the longer stem in comparison with the semi-dwarf varieties Grom, the new genotype is highly resistant to lodging, due to the high strength of the stem. The variety has high indicators of phylogenetic resistance to low temperatures, which allow it to winter with guarantee in regions with harsh winter and spring conditions. Stepnyachka 1 has a high field resistance to major diseases (various types of rust, dusty smut, septoria, pyrenophorosis, fusarium, yellow dwarf barley virus). In terms of grain quality, it is not inferior to the Grom standard, which is included in the list of valuable wheat of the Russian Federation.
The article presents the morphology, methods of creation and the results of a study by the type of competitive tests of a new variety of soft winter wheat Yuzhnaya Zvezda. The new variety belongs to the erythrospermum variety. A new genotype was synthesized by the method of intraspecific hybridization and continuous, purposeful selection from crossing Lidiya and Zustrich varieties. The average grain yield over the years of study (2019-2021) was 9.43 t/ha. The excess over the standard Grom variety was high and significant - plus 1.80 t/ha. The variety has high resistance to lodging and field resistance to a complex of pathogens affecting winter wheat in the recommended cultivation regions. Along with a high yield, the genotype of the new variety also contains a high grain quality of strong wheat. Due to the complex of economic and biological characteristics and properties that the Yuzhnaya Zvezda variety possesses, it should be attributed to varieties of resource-energy-saving technologies.
The article presents a new variety of soft winter wheat Verochka, created in the North Caucasian Federal Research Center. On average, over the years of study (2018-2020), the excess in grain yield over the standard was high and reliable and amounted to 1.21 t / ha. The new genotype is distinguished by an increased formation of productive stems per 1 m2, a high grain weight of an ear and a weight of 1000 grains. Reliably and significantly exceeds the standard variety Thunder in frost resistance and disease resistance. Verochka is characterized by high quality grain and bread, high drought resistance and lodging resistance. The new variety is well recommended for growing on all fertilized predecessors using intensive and medium-intensity technologies on farms of all forms of ownership.
The article presents a new variety of soft winter wheat of the universal type Antipovka, created in the North Caucasian Federal Research Center. On average, over the years of study (2018-2020), the excess in yield over the standard in the conditions of the Stavropol Territory was 0.96 t/ ha, in the conditions of the Volgograd region - 1.16 t / ha, respectively. Antipovka is characterized by an increased number of productive stems per 1 m2 and a higher spike grain mass in comparison with the Thunder standard. The new variety reliably and significantly exceeds the standard frost-resistant wheat varieties Grom and Don 95 in terms of frost resistance. It is distinguished by high resistance to lodging and diseases, drought resistance, does not crumble and does not germinate on the root. It forms high quality grain and belongs to strong wheat. The new genotype is recommended for study in the Central Black Earth, North Caucasus and Lower Volga regions and for cultivation for all fertilized predecessors using intensive and medium-intensive technologies in farms of all forms of ownership.
