Arquitetura.
Digital innovation has been identified as one of the main resources to remedy existing deficiencies in the healthcare sector due to the efficiency in the exchange of information, the best use of data and the automation of processes. However, researchers observed resistance to the implementation of digital technologies in this sector and have focused their studies on understanding aspects that lead to resistance, but without taking into account some essential aspects that support corporations, such as organizational culture. In the scientific literature, there are no instruments for evaluating digital organizational culture to measure how digital an organization's culture is or whether its culture has the readiness necessary to develop digital transformation projects. The present study proposes an instrument for evaluating the digital organizational culture. An exploratory literature review was carried out to identify the instruments of analysis of digital culture available. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to assess which aspects of digital culture has been conducted. The literature review gave rise to a preliminary version of a digital culture assessment questionnaire that was applied to two organizations in the health sector to collect feedback from respondents regarding the understanding of the questions and the length of the form. The proposed instrument has 33 questions classified in eight building blocks of digital culture: Vision, Internal Environment, People, Innovation, Technology, Resources, Stakeholders, and Ethics. This proposal could help professionals from different areas to implement digital solutions, since it will address aspects inherent to organizational culture. For the scientific community, this research will enhance studies focused on digital transformation with the proposal of an instrument that could be explored and validated in future research. Future research could consider the application of the instrument on a large scale, to carry out statistical analysis that prove it reliability and validity.
Packs containing selected surgical material can reduce delays, costs, errors and provide safety for the medical team and for the patient. The research goal was to scale packs required for two types of spine treatment using tools from Lean Healthcare as support. PDCA cycle was used as a method of troubleshooting. In the “Plan” stage, we evaluated the current situation and the need for change using Value Stream Mapping, regarding the current and future situations. In the “Do” stage, a plan was developed to improve the changes, with the assistance of the 5S approach. Kaizen, Standardized Work and Visual Management tools were used in the “Check” stage, to propose the implementation of the changes. In the “Act” stage, it was suggested to follow-up the actions. This eliminates the activities that do not add value in the patient’s vision, or the process client.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
