<p>Objetivo: analisar as produções científicas sobre o banho no leito de pacientes adultos em cuidados críticos. Método: revisão integrativa da literatura realizada em 2016 nas bases de dados CINAHL, PubMed, Scopus, LILACS e Web of Science, utilizando os descritores baths, critical care, com o operador booleano and. Resultados: foram incluídos 21 artigos. As publicações tiveram como foco: relacionar o banho no leito com a prevenção e o controle de Infecções Associadas aos Cuidados de Saúde, e descrever e avaliar o procedimento do banho no leito. Conclusão: há lacunas de conhecimento na literatura acerca da melhor técnica de banho no leito, mas a produção científica demonstra que esse procedimento pode provocar alterações nos parâmetros fisiológicos em pacientes adultos em cuidados críticos.</p><p>Descritores: Banhos. Objective: to compare the time for performance of dry and traditional bed bathing and its effects on transcutaneous arterial oxygen saturation and respiratory rates in critical adult patients. Method: pilot study of a randomized, open, crossover clinical trial, performed with 15 adult critically ill patients. Each patient received a dry and a traditional bed bath. Analysis of variance with repeated measures was used, adopting p-value ≤ 0.05. Results: most patients were male (73.3%), white (66.7%), with a mean age of 69.7 years. The dry bath was faster (20.0 minutes) than the traditional bath (30.0 minutes) (p<0.001). There was no significant difference between the patients’ saturation means between baths (p=0.381), with 94.7% for the dry bath and 95.2% for the traditional bath. During the traditional bath, the patients’ respiratory rate mean was higher (24.2 incursions per minute) and statistically different (p<0.001) from the value obtained for the dry bath (20.5 incursions per minute). Conclusion: the dry bath had a shorter duration than did the traditional bath, resulting in less patient exposure. Objective:To identify the factors associated with the self-application of insulin in adult individuals with Diabetes Mellitus. Method: A cross-sectional study developed in the city of Viçosa-MG, which assessed 142 patients. The data collection was performed between April and July 2013 through an interview at the participant's home. Multiple logistic regression was used. Results:The prevalence of the self-administration of insulin was of 67.6%, and it was associated with ages between 57 and 68 years old (OR = 0.3, 95% CI: 0.1-0.9), living with a partner and children (OR = 2.5, 95% CI: 1.1-5.0), 9 years or more of study (OR = 8.4, 95% CI: 1.9-37.9), living in an area not covered by the Family Health Strategy (FHS) (OR = 2.8, 95% CI: 1.1 -7.0). Conclusion:The self-application of insulin was associated with age, schooling, marital status, and the FHS coverage. The recognition of these factors may contribute to the adherence to the self-application of insulin.Keywords: Diabetes mellitus. Insulin. Self care. Medication adherence. Objective: To evaluate the “satisfaction” and “self-confidence” constructs in nursing students who underwent simulated clinical experiences in semiology and semiotechnique disciplines. Method: A descriptive study developed with Nursing students from a federal public university in the interior of Minas Gerais through weekly simulated workshops. The “satisfaction” and “self-confidence” constructs were evaluated by the “Student Satisfaction and Self-Confidence with Learning Scale” and “Simulated Clinical Experiences Satisfaction Scale”. Results: The final sample was 45 students. Most were more satisfied (overall average = 4.18) than self-confident (overall average = 4.12). The Spearman correlation test identified a significant and positive association between the “satisfaction” and “self-confidence” constructs. Conclusion: Students feel self-confident and satisfied with the use of simulation as an active teaching-learning methodology, highlighting that the higher the satisfaction level, the greater the student’s self-confidence.
