Moringa oleifera Lam is an Indian plant with applications in the agricultural and medical fields. The assets development capable of increasing the efficiency of sunscreens, mainly those of plant origin, due to their natural benefits, represents an increasing demand for cosmetology. The present study aims to identify by CG-MS the constituents of the most active oil and to evaluate the photoprotective capacity of Moringa oil, and its action in sunscreen formulations. Extracts of the oils from the Moringa seeds were evaluated for the Sun Protection Factor (SPF) observing the highest result for the dichloromethane extract. This extract showed low cytotoxic potential for human fibroblasts and it was incorporated into a sunscreen. The extract increased the SPF of the sunscreen and its effect may be related to fatty acids identified by GC-MS. The results showed the benefit of Moringa oil as a vegetable active in the sunscreen formulations by increasing the SPF of sunscreens in a natural and sustainable way.

Segundo a Capes (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior), fazem parte dessa área: MEDICINA, NUTRIÇÃO, ODONTOLOGIA, FARMÁCIA, ENFERMAGEM, SAÚDE COLETIVA, EDUCAÇÃO FÍSICA, FO-NOAUDIOLOGIA, FISIOTERAPIA E TERAPIA OCUPACIONAL. Tal área suscita, portanto, uma gama de possibilidades de pesquisas e de relações dialógicas que certamente podem ser relevantes para o desenvolvimento social brasileiro.Desse modo, os artigos apresentados neste livro -em sua maioria frutos de árduos trabalhos acadêmicos (TCC, monografia, dissertação, tese) -decerto contribuem, cada um a seu modo, para o aprofundamento de discussões na área da Saúde Brasileira, pois são pesquisas germinadas, frutificadas e colhidas de temas atuais que vêm sendo debatidos nas principais universidades nacionais e que refletem o interesse de pesquisadores no desenvolvimento social e científico que possa melhorar a qualidade de vida de homens e de mulheres.Acredito, verdadeiramente, que a ampla divulgação do conhecimento científico pode mudar para melhor o mundo em que vivemos! Esse livro é parte da materialização dessa utopia.

Natural products are being increasingly used in scientific research in an attempt to obtain new drugs for current diseases. Most of the time these substances are presenting good results, besides presenting some positive points as easy acquisition, low cost and less or none adverse effect. In this sense, the aim of this research is to perform a bibliographic survey on in vitro, in vivo and in silico studies of natural products to prove their antitumor activity. The study is a review research that used 31 articles to highlight the scientific findings on the antitumor activity of natural products and their derivatives. Articles were included in the time estimate between 2015 - 2021 (last six years). The search and selection of the reference studies was performed in Scielo, Science Direct, PubMed and Google Academic databases. The literature shows that natural compounds have several activities against several types of cancer, such as breast, prostate, liver, pancreas, colorectal cancer, among others. The studies found suggest that the diversity of existing compounds may trigger important steps towards the optimization of new strategies for the formulation of drugs for cancer chemotherapy. Thus, new studies may be important to elucidate even more specifically the effects of these compounds isolated and in association in vivo for the discovery of new treatments for cancer.
