Cardamom farming in Banyumas Regency is mostly cultivated on Perhutani land. Land conservation management is an important part so that business sustainability can be maintained. Sustainable land conservation management combines technology, policies, and activities by integrating socio-economic principles that pay attention to the environment by (a) maintaining or increasing production (maintain or enhance productivity / services); (b) reduce the level of production risk; (c) protect the potential of natural resources and prevent the degradation of soil and water quality; (d) be economically viable; (e) be socially acceptable. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of individual characteristics and external environmental factors on the performance and sustainability of cardamom farming in Perhutani land, Banyumas Regency. The analytical method used is descriptive quantitative. Data analysis using Structural Equation Model Partial Least Square. The results of the analysis show that the factors that affect the performance and sustainability of cardamom farming are government policies and regulations; socio-cultural environment; and individual characteristics. While the economic environment has no significant effect on the 95% confidence level.
Melinjo Chips is one of the special foods in Yogyakarta which is prepared from melinjo nuts. Banguntapan and Pajangan Sub District are melinjo processed production centers. The purpose of this study is to calculate the costs, margins and profits of each melinjo chips marketing channel. The simple random sampling method was used to collect 50 respondents from the melinjo chips producers in Bantul District. This study aimed to determine the impact of crop failure on rice household food security. The Energy Adequacy Rate (EAR) and the Proportion of Food Expenditure (PFE) in Banyumas Regency were calculated to determine food security in 2019. Analytical descriptive method was used. The technical implementation of research used survey method. The method of research analysis was carried out by comparing the level of household food security of rice farmers when farmers experienced a normal harvest and when farmers experienced crop failure. After collecting and analyzing the data, it was found that crop failure did not affect the amount of EAR relative to farm households. However, crop failure affected the PFE, the farm households who have high PFE were increased. The higher PFE, the lower food security, namely the number of farm households that were food secure decreased, food vulnerable increased, food less secure increased and food insecure increased.
Pemberdayaan masyarakat tani dengan sasaran petani di Desa Dawuhan, Kecamatan Banyumas, Kabupaten Banyumas merupakan program pengabdian masyarakat yang didanai oleh LPPM Universitas Jenderal Soedirman melalui skema Program Penerapan IPTEKS. Tujuan jangka panjang dari pemberdayaan masyarakat tani ini agar petani dapat mengusahakan budidaya tanaman padi secara organik. Dengan budidaya padi secara organik, maka petani tidak saja diberdayakan untuk mendapatkan hasil produksi yang meningkat, namun aspek keberlanjutan usahatani, kemandirian petani, daya saing produk yang dihasilkan, daya tawar petani dan keramahan lingkungan akan dicapai. Namun dalam rangka mencapai tujuan jangka panjang tersebut, permasalahan awal yang dihadapi oleh petani yakni masih rendahnya tingkat ketrampilan petani (psikomotorik) dalam pembuatan Pupuk Organik Cair (POC) dan Pestisida Nabati (Pesnab). Demi mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, Program Penerapan IPTEKS dilaksanakan dengan metode berupa pelatihan pembuatan pupuk organik cair dan pestisida nabati yang dilaksanakan di Desa Dawuhan, Kecamatan Banyumas, Kabupaten Banyumas. Pupuk organik cair dan pestisida nabati dibuat dengan memanfaatkan sumberdaya alam sekitar, karena bahan baku yang dibutuhkan relatif banyak di lingkungan pedesaan. Dengan adanya kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat tani ini, petani di Desa Dawuhan menjadi lebih terampil dan mampu dalam membuat pupuk organik cair dan pestisida nabati, sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan langsung untuk budidaya tanaman padi secara organik
