Abstmct-This reseamh deals with dynamics of a permanent magnet freely levitatedabove an excitedhigh-T, superconktor. Vertical restoring forces acting on the magnet wem evalmted by analysis based on fhe critical state and flux flow models. The resdts show nonlineati.ty andfreqplzncy-dependence of the forces, which were obsemed in experiments. Vertical vibration properties of the system were also evaluated analytically by considering the above properties of the restoring forces. 'Ihe resdts show good agreement with experimental ones, which inclule effect of the frequency-dependent stiffness on the resonant fttcplency, the primary resonance characteristics, stability ofthe steady,-state motions andso on.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
