Air pollution and population health related to it is one of the main issues in Sarajevo in the past few years, especially in the winter t ime. Reason for that is combustion of coal, oil fuel and other harmful emissions that leads to creation of air pollutants such are: particulate matter (PM), sulfur d io xide (SO 2), nitrogen dioxide (NO x), and creation of Ozone (O 3). This study addressed the question regarding possible solutions for improvement of air quality by removing NOx emitted fro m the cars in the particular area of urban core of Marijin Dvor in Sarajevo using innovative architecture approach. Basic principle introduced by this paper considered outdoor application of TiO 2 coating, in accordance with prev iously conducted studies. First part of research was conducted bysnowball research method which was used for accumulat ion of similar research material, while later study was completed using mixed method research design with explanatory research method which provided analyses, comparison and calculation of expected outcomes of applied innovative solutions as a mean to reduce pollution. These innovative approaches were imp lemented as coatings of TiO 2 on elevations and paved areas next to the main road. Total area covered by TiO 2 was 15 778 m 2. Results strongly indicate that usage of TiO 2 coating as innovative approach reduced the amount of NO x emitted by cars per year by 52,39%. This amount of NO x removed after treat ment indicates that method proposed in this study was very effective and suggests that this study can contribute to further analyses and lead to possible imp lementation in the future.
Advanced technologies such as Big Data, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, robotics, cloud computing, and additive manufacturing are enablers of the industry 4.0 revolution and signify intense transformations in socio-economic systems. This work investigates the enabling nature of certain technologies in the emergence and development of different quality paradigms. Each enabling technology is related to a certain industrial revolution; consequently, a certain quality paradigm has been developed. Where is quality management now, in which direction its development is going, and what can be expected in the future is discussed in this paper. The research focuses on the most important factors discussed in the literature that influenced quality development throughout history. Results are presented in written and graphical form and include newly established theories based on recent innovations. Since this is a cumulative overview of different quality methods, it only briefly discusses the most important theories. It was observed that with Industry 4.0 enabling technologies, we are currently experiencing a transformation in this discipline, reaching a higher level in the competition for market positioning. Particularly, meeting explicit customer needs is upgraded with latent customer needs - linked to the customer's emotional responses (delight) to products/services. This paper contributes to a new field of research that is becoming increasingly popular.
Due to its diverse cultural heritage and rich natural resources, Bosnia is lately becoming more popular among foreign visitors. Currently, many tourists are increasingly focusing on outdoor and rural tourism. To be able to fulfill their needs in terms of accommodation and activities, during the last several years many ethno villages are built throughout the country. The design of such artificial ethno villages often borders on kitsch and does not represent authentic architectural styles of the region. Some of them, as introduced in this paper, tend more towards mass tourism and luxury accommodation offers that are in contradiction to the idea of ecological ethno villages. On the other hand, many villages in the country are partly or entirely abandoned due to the population displacement into cities. This paper aims to compare the touristic offer and quality of the newly constructed ethno villages as a new form of rural tourism with existing, vernacular villages in the country. The research is a comparison study, also addressed by the analytical-historical method with the auxiliary method of the case study which incorporated recordings of site conditions. The focus of this research is the village Idbar and its prospects that offer a solid base for further development of ecological ethno tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which could potentially become one of the leading branches of rural tourism in the country.
