Nowadays, the Ukrainian church building has not yet succeeded in establishing its own modern image/type of church, different from the conventional one. One of the significant reasons for this situation is the long break in the design and construction of churches in Ukraine during the 20th century. The Ukrainian diaspora has accumulated considerable experience in the construction of modern churches, which ensures the continuity of the tradition of the church building. The purpose of the research is to explore the still invaluable experience of designing church buildings and the architectural and artistic organisation of their interior in Ukrainian diaspora churches, which is an important foundation for solving the problem of developing the image/appearance of a modern church. The research used general scientific and special methods. Attention is devoted to the research of current issues of developing a light composition in the sacred space of modern diaspora churches. The research analyses several projects by architects of the Ukrainian diaspora in the field of sacred architecture. The research identifies the specific features of the establishment and development of church architecture in the Ukrainian diaspora in terms of the debate over the conventional and modern forms of church buildings and the spatial organisation of the light composition of their sacred space. The research outlines the influence of the local architectural tradition of the church building in North America – Protestant and Catholic churches – and the modernist design culture of the period of functionalism and neo-modernism in architecture on the architectonics of Ukrainian churches in the diaspora and the organisation of the light environment of their interior space. For the first time, the features and regularities of the organisation of the light environment of the most famous Greek Catholic churches of the Ukrainian diaspora in Canada and the United States, built in the second half of the 20th century, are explored. The influence of natural light on the architectonics of churches and the specific features of visual perception of their internal object environment and on the development of the appropriate mood imbued with mysticism and sacred atmosphere of the interiors of churches is determined. The experience of diaspora architects is explored and analysed, which has not been understudied but will be essential for use in the practice of Ukrainian architects in designing modern churches while preserving national identity and church-building traditions
Understanding the tradition, innovation and national identity of examples of wooden temple buildings, in particular, Ukrainian churches, certain trends are identified, which in their essence become the main ones, regarding the intensity of development in temple construction. The factors of tradition and innovation are identified as important mediums for establishing the national identity of the image of wooden temple buildings, and their expression in the modern temple-building process of creating a Christian shrine.
The article presents the results of the study of literary sources and natural surveys of the territory of the castle in Rohatyn carried out by the authors. As is well known, the city of Rohatyn of the Ivano-Frankivsk region is one of the oldest cities in Western Ukraine. As early as 1415, the city received the Magdeburg right, which gave potential for more intensive development of the settlement. The planning structure of the city go through certain transformations over time, but the location of the main objects of the city, such as churches, the market square, earthen fortifications and the castle, remained unchanged. There are a small number of references to Rohatyn castle buildings. Some claim that the castle was moved to another location not far from the previous one, within the city limits, next to the city fortifications. Others declare about the existence of another castle on a hill near the city in the Babyntsi village. These evidences largely complement each other, which enabled the researchers to localize the location of the city castle. However, it will be possible to confirm the existence of the Babyntsi Castle only after conducting archaeological research on the hill. Important evidence about the city castle is the studied metrics, descriptions and lustrations of the Rohatyn Starostvo from 1537, and the inventory from 1725. Thanks to these materials, we became aware of the existence of a number of premises and buildings in the castle, such as kitchens-bakeries, carriage houses, stables, storage rooms, gates and other premises, as well as the presence of cannons, grottoes and a list of craftsmen who were part of the castle’s collateral. Thanks to these statements, many conclusions have been drawn regarding the list of premises and their relative location. The results of natural studies and measurements of the casemates, which have survived to this day on the territory of the castle, allowed many researchers to confirm the location of the defensive fortifications in the southeastern part of the city and to localize the castle in the city of Rohatyn according to literary sources and now also according to the results of the fixation of the remains of the casemates.
The purpose of this study is to identify the peculiarities of the formation and location in the structure of urban spaces, modern wooden temple architecture, its harmonious coexistence with the existing residential and public environment of Lviv. There is also a need to show the features of the material (wood) and its relief, namely the texture as a component of the perception of image and form, which accentuate the building of the temple in the urban spatial structure of Lviv.

Постановка проблеми Палаци романтичного стилю, збудовані на Львівщині у ХІХ-на початку ХХ століття, містили в собі низку архітектурних та ландшафтних елементів, які створювали неповторний та гармонійний ансамбль. Сьогодні практично не залишилося об'єктів, які б повністю зберегли свій первісний вигляд. Архітектурні та ландшафтно-композиційні особливості таких ансамблів залишаються до тепер недооціненими і потребують професійної уваги. Важливо проаналізувати їхню сучасну функцію для визначення перспектив їхнього подальшого використання, реставрації та раціонального збереження. Мета статті-оцінити стан збереженості, актуальну функцію та визначити характерні особливості садово-паркових комплексів романтичного стилю на прикладі одного палацу. Виклад основного матеріалу У цій роботі об'єктом дослідження та аналізу є палацово-паркові комплекси, які з'явились у XIX-на початку XX ст. у Львівської обл. і мають схожі стильові, архітектурно-планувальні та ландшафтно-композиційні особливості. Характерною рисою таких палаців був романтичний стиль. Французьким словом "romantisme", іспанським "romance" чи англійським "romantic" у XVIII ст. зазвичай характеризували щось дивне, фантастичне та мальовниче. У XIX ст. романтизм стає новим стилістичним напрямом, що прийшов на зміну класицизму. Для цього стилю насамперед було характерне звернення до образів незайманої природи з мінімальним втручанням у ландшафтне середовище.
