Abstract:The most popular development methodologies in the last decade are based on object-oriented techniques. The goal of this paper is to investigate the possibilities of extending the object-oriented methodology of information systems development with a service-oriented approach and to examine the benefits of this extension. We propose an augmentation to an object-oriented methodology known as BORM that incorporates service-oriented techniques. To demonstrate the advantages of this combination, the extended methodology was applied and its features evaluated.
