Ease of accessing information through internet causes primary school-age children to be vulnerable to exposure to matters related to sexuality and pornography. The limitations of parents and teachers in providing sexuality education leads to premature sexual behavior in primary school students. This study aims to explain the description of knowledge about sexuality in the students of grade IV-VI in SD N, which has a Buddhist background. Buddhism itself does not view sexuality as a wrong thing, but it takes awareness and self-control in dealing with it. Quantitative methods were carried out with a questionnaire involving 188 students. Furthermore, the qualitative method was conducted with group interviews of 12 students representatives. The results obtained are the majority of students in grade IV-VI in elementary school still have knowledge of sexuality in the low category. Differences in the level of knowledge appear to be influenced by the source of information obtained. Therefore, it is necessary to establish an appropriate school-based sexuality education and cultural context to students in grade IV-VI at SD N in Jakarta.Keywords: Sexuality education, elementary school, Buddhism school
HUBUNGAN KOMPETENSI PEDAGOGIK, PROFESIONAL, SOSIAL, DAN KEPRIBADIAN PADA GURU SEKOLAH NONFORMAL XAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kompetensi guru (kompetensi pedagogik, kompetensi profesional, kompetensi sosial, dan kompetensi kepribadian) serta melihat hubungan antarkompetensi pada guru-guru sekolah nonformal X. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada sekolah nonformal yang berfokus pada pendidikan seni yang juga membutuhkan kompetensi guru yang berkualitas seperti pada pendidikan formal. Penelitian ini menggunakan mixed methods dengan instrumen kuesioner, panduan observasi, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertama, mayoritas guru memiliki kompetensi cukup, namun masih ada yang memiliki kompetensi kurang sehingga menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi guru masih bervariasi. Pada uji korelasi menunjukkan setiap kompetensi memiliki korelasi signifikan dengan kompetensi lainnya. Artinya, setiap kompetensi tidak berdiri sendiri, namun saling melengkapi untuk menghasilkan kompetensi yang berkualitas secara utuh. Kedua, kompetensi pedagogik memiliki korelasi signifikan dengan kompetensi profesional, kompetensi sosial, dan kompetensi kepribadian. This study was conducted in non-formal schools that focused on art education that required teachers’ qualified competences as in formal education. The study used the mixed methods with questionnaire instruments, observation, and interview guides. The results show that the majority of the teachers have sufficient competence, and the others have insufficient competence. It shows that the competences of the teachers are still varied. The correlation test results show that each competency has a significant correlation with other competencies. That is, each competency does not stand alone, but complement each other to produce a quality competence intact. The results show that pedagogic competence has a significant correlation with professional, social, and personality competences. Professional competence has a significant correlation with social and personality competences, as well as social competence also has a significant correlation with personality competence
Teachers are important figures in forming the school climate, including in inclusive schools. Their perception will influence the learning process and indirectly affect students’ achievements. This study aimed to identify teachers’ perceptions of school climate in inclusive schools. Mixed method was used in this study. Quantitatively, questionnaires were given to 127 teachers from 2 inclusive vocational schools and 4 inclusive high schools in Jakarta, Bandung, and Surakarta, using accidental sampling technique. In each class, there were 2 – 3 students with special needs, which encompassed different types of disability such as physically disabled, low vision, slow learner, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and autism. Qualitatively, school observations and interviews were conducted with 10 teachers. The results showed that their perceptions of the school climate in high schools and vocational schools tended to be positive although the knowledge and application of inclusive education still needed to be improved. There were differences in several perceptual aspects due to the duration of teaching and the type of school.
Due to the social restrictions during the covid-19 pandemic, making friends has become a challenge for students studying from home. This study aims to describe and examine the correlation between self-disclosure, social self-efficacy, and friendship status. Participants (N = 221) were freshman students of the 2021 cohort from Universities in Jabodetabek. Data was collected with convenience sampling and analysed using descriptive analysis and correlation. The measurement instrument used in this study was Self-Efficacy Scale in Personal Relationship (α=0.927), the Revised Self-Disclosure Scale (α=0.801), and the friendship status category. Results indicate that social self-efficacy and self-disclosure were fairly high among freshman students and the majority of friendship status was in the first initiation step. One-Way ANOVA showed that there is a significant difference in social self-efficacy and self-disclosure between friendship status. Spearman Correlation showed that there is a significant positive correlation between social self-efficacy, self-disclosure, and friendship status. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat gambaran social self-efficacy (SSE), self-disclosure, dan status pertemanan dalam membangun pertemanan pada mahasiswa baru angkatan 2021 di Jabodetabek. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif komparasi dan korelasi. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan alat ukur Self-Efficacy Scale in Personal Relationship (α=0.927), Revised Self-Disclosure Scale (α=0.801), dan Kategori Status Pertemanan yang telah melalui proses adaptasi dengan expert judgement dan face validity. Responden terdiri dari 221 mahasiswa baru dari universitas di Jabodetabek yang dipilih dengan teknik convenience sampling. Berdasarkan analisis statistik deskriptif ditemukan bahwa SSE dan self-disclosure pada kategori cukup tinggi, dan status pertemanan berada pada tahap pertama yaitu inisiasi. Uji One-Way ANOVA menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada SSE dan self-disclosure berdasarkan status pertemanan. Uji Korelasi Spearman ditemukan hubungan positif yang signifikan antara SSE dengan self-disclosure, SSE dengan status pertemanan, dan self-disclosure dengan status pertemanan. Sexuality education is basically meant for equipping children to be more prepared for sexual development, and also more alert to face sexual violence. However, through interviewing a number of parents at "X" Elementary School, the majority of parents are reluctant to relay information about sexuality to children. They hesitated to answer children's questions about sexuality. Some of the parents are even questioned the benefit of sexuality education. We can conclude that parent's awareness at "X" Elementary School to apply sexuality education are still lacking. The purpose of this research is to understand the contribution of parent's perception on sexuality educational implementation on children. We used Health-Belief Model, which consist of perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefit, perceived barrier, and cues to action to discover parent' s views on factors that affecting themselves to apply sexuality education. Data were obtained through questionnaires given to 127 parents at "X" Elementary School who have children of 4 th -6 th grade. The results showed only perceived barrier (the perception of the existence of barriers) that can predict the behavior of parent's in implementing sexuality education to their children (t = -.4.894, p < .05). We can conclude that parent's view about the barrier of implementing sexuality education becomes the main factor for the parent in implementing it to their children. Based on the results, parents need to be facilitated to omit the barrier of relaying sexuality information to children.
