The work is aimed at clarifying the contribution of moral identity and Machiavellianism as predictors of negative creativity. Negative creativity is the solution of a legitimate task, as a result of which unintentional harm was inflicted on others. To prevent such an impact on others, it is important to understand which personal characteristics are predictors of behavioral manifestations of negative creativity. The materials of an empirical study obtained on a sample of cadets of one of the universities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia (N=277 people, 200 of them men, the average age is 20 years) are presented. We used questionnaires adapted from the Russian sample of Mac IV and NEO-FFI; as well as moral ideality (K. Aquino and A. Reed, II). To diagnose negative creativity, the scales ‘Lies’ and ‘Evil Jokes’ of the questionnaire ‘The Malevolent Creativity Behavior Scale’ (Hao et al.) were used. Research hypothesis: the key characteristics of the negative creativity profile of adults (on the example of cadets) are Machiavellianism and low values of moral identity. According to the results, the ability to control one's own impulses and the internalization of moral qualities developed at the average level, as well as high Machiavellianism and average self-control ability, are predictors of negative creativity and risk components. The novelty of the results obtained is that in the case of negative productivity, it is important to take into account not the low development of positive characteristics (conscientiousness and moral identity), but the average values.
The article is devoted to the study of the relationship between emotional intelligence (EI) and antisocial creativity (AC), manifested in deviant and criminal behaviour. The sample consisted of groups of convicted of fraud and mercenary-violent crimes (N = 15) and of convicted of aggressively violent crimes (N = 15). Methods used: the aggression questionnaire, EI, Machiavellianism and the questionnaire “Behavioural features of antisocial creativity”. The tested hypotheses were as follows: 1) the difference in the components manifestation of EI of two groups of convicts, 2) AС is mediated by low level of EI and the aggression components; 3) AC in fraudsters and mercenary-violent criminals is mediated by the interaction of EI and hostility. According to the results EI has an ambiguous effect on criminal behaviour: a low understanding of other people's emotions and low interpersonal intelligence can be realised in fraud and mercenary-violent crimes, while a higher level of interpersonal intelligence - in aggressive-violent crime. The anger and the understanding of one's own emotions are of great importance in antisocial creativity in the subgroup with AC indicators above the averages for both samples. A low level of understanding of their own emotions and hostility are the predictors for fraudsters and convicts for mercenary-violent crimes. All ratios are statistically significant. Further research directions and practice-oriented recommendations are provided.
Introduction. Modern Russian studies devoted to the study of deviant behavior in different age samples of employees of internal affairs bodies (ATS) are considered. The urgency of the problem is related to the task and optimization of interpersonal interaction of ATS employees. Materials and discussion. The types of deviant behavior and deviations in interpersonal interaction are considered. The results of studies aimed at identifying the causes and predictors of deviant behavior in cadets, cadets and police officers with different service experience are presented. The concept of antisocial creativity is considered, predictors of antisocial creativity identified in studies of various age samples are presented. An important predictor of deviant behavior in police officers are negative personal characteristics: hostility, aggression, character accentuation. Among cadets, an important role in the formation of negative personal characteristics is played by the peculiarities of the educational institution, and to a greater extent its closeness. Employees of the Department of Internal Affairs have a different situation: with the growth of service experience, these characteristics are not formed, but manifest themselves due to professional deformation. Conclusions. The analysis of modern publications shows the absence of longitudinal studies tracking the dynamics of changes in deviant behavior, and the apparent insufficiency of studies of deviant behavior in the interpersonal interaction of police officers. The prospect of studying the features of interpersonal interaction of ATS employees within the framework of the study of the relationship between antisocial creativity and emotional intelligence is substantiated.
