Studies on the theme concerning interpersonal relationship in technical nursing are scarce or non-existent However, since this professional category has an expressive number of representatives who deliver various types of direct care to patients, it needs theoretical and pratical contents. This study aimed at investigating how the content related to this theme is addressed among the teachers of a technical school, its importance to students and its aplicability by professionals in this level. To that end, questionnaires were used. The results showed interpersonal relationship as fundamental; however; its routine applicability is not clear. This leads to the conclusion that there are difficulties to identify the real content given, thus difficulty is also supposed to exist in to put it into practice.
RESUMO: Trata-se de uma reflexão sobre o tema, relacionamento interpessoal nos cursos e na atuação profissional de auxiliares e técnicos de enfermagem. Constata-se que os pedidos dos pacientes se situam na esfera relacionai e raramente na técnica e que o relacionamento interpessoal aparece como mola propulsora do cuidado. Sabe-se que 70% da mão de obra de enfermagem é desenvolvida por profissionais de nível médio, sendo executores de grande parte das técnicas, justificando assim este estudo. Considerou-se imprescindível que o profissional citado tenha um melhor preparo no tema em questão para oferecer uma assistência mais humanizada. Cabe às instituições formadoras de nível médio proporcionarem condições para o desenvolvimento desta habilidade e ao enfermeiro assistencial mantê-la, principalmente através de atividades educativas contínuas em serviço.Palavras Chave: relacionamento interpessoal, ensino de enfermagem. INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIP IN NURSING: CONSIDERATIONS ON THE EDUCATION/PRACTICE OF VOCATIONAL NURSESABSTRACT: This is a reflection concerning interpersonal relationships in nursing programs and in the professional practice of nursing auxiliaries and nursing aides. It is verified that patients' requests are found in the relational sphere and rarely in the technical one. Interpersonal relationships appear as the driving incentive of health care. It is known that 70% of nursing labor is developed by vocational nursing professionals who perform a large number of procedures, which justifies this study. That the mentioned professionals should have a better preparation concerning the theme in question in order to provide more humanized care was considered to be essential. Vocational Nursing schools are obliged to provide the necessary conditions for the development of such skill and the clinical nurse is responsible for keeping it, especially by means of continual educational activities at work. The objective of this present study was to investigate the relationship among patients from medical, surgical and psychiatrist clinics, their understanding about this subject, what is the importance of this hability, how it happens between nursing technicians and nursing assistants and the patients from those clinics, the reason that these professionals decided to apply this relation and how often it has been applied. The metodology adopted was the exploratorydescriptive with qualitative research. The study was performed in a psychiatrist hospital and in a hospital where there were medical and surgical clinics. Both of hospitals attend patients connected to Basic Heath Units, in Passos, Minas Gerais. 87 patients participated in this study, 15 of them were interviewed and 72 patients were observed by trained observers. The results of these interviews related what the patients really think about the way they are treated by the nursing technicians and the nursing assistants that work at those hospitals, and the content of their talks with those professionals, how these talks help them, their feelings, their well being and their suggestions to improve the nursing assistance. Even though the patients reported that they are well treated by the nursing technicians and the nursing assistants it was realized that they tend to avoid making negative comments about the assistance afraid of offending the professionals and being bad treated by them. The talks were brief, superficial and mechanic. It was showed the predominance / willingness of those nursing technicians and assistants in appling the technics, their instrumental formation clearly. Relationship was not include as a technic. What it was also clear was that they were not prepared to communicate or to have a relationship with those patients, even though the patients say relationship is one of the reasons that most brought them their well being.
COVID-19 represents a global health emergency, causing significant morbidity and mortality. Multiple vaccines have been distributed worldwide to control the spread of this pandemic. Several reports of thrombosis and thrombocytopaenia have been described after vaccination. These have been termed vaccine-induced immune thrombocytopaenia and thrombosis (VITT). We report a fatal case of VITT after receiving the first dose of Ad26.COV2.S vaccine. A man in his 30s developed thrombocytopaenia, massive haemoperitoneum due to spleen rupture and extensive portal and femoral vein thrombosis. The patient rapidly developed multiple organ failure and died. We attributed this condition to the vaccine due to the temporal relationship, presence of thrombosis and thrombocytopaenia, high levels of platelet factor 4 antibodies and exclusion of other diagnoses. Healthcare providers should be aware of such rare but fatal complications of COVID-19 immunisation, as early diagnosis of VITT may improve prognosis by allowing timely appropriate treatment.
