Cieľom príspevku je opísať nefarmakologickú liečbu a možnosti jej využitia u seniorov v domácej a ústavnej liečbe.
Health is a basic prerequisite for the existence and operation of values. Health care enables people to protect or restore health throughout their lives, from birth to death, in accordance with applicable legislation. This paper aims to identify the importance of assessing a locus of control over health using the scale measuring tool, Multidimensional Health Locus of Control (MHCL). In total, 100 respondents participated in the survey, with an average age of 42 years. Statistical analyses were performed using Statistica, version 2007, with significance level of 0.05.Correlations of MHLC and attitudes toward preventive actions showed statistically significant results with readiness to quit smoking. People with high IHLC scores were more willing to stop smoking, change their diet, and reduce body weight. Our assumption in this research was that individuals who believed in internal control of health had a more positive effect regarding preventive actions.UDC Classification: 159.9, 316.6, 316.4 DOI: http://dx
Moderná medicína dosahuje zásadné pokroky v prevencii a liečbe kardiovaskulárnych ochorení. Výskumné štúdie boli vyhľadávané v elektronických databázach PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect a Web of Science za obdobie rokov 2010-2021. výsledky: V databázach sme vyhľadali 191 potenciálne relevantných štúdií : PubMed n = 30, Scopus n = 9, ScienceDirect n = 136, Web of Science n = 16. Do finálnej analýzy zaradili 9 štúdií, ktoré hodnotili účinnosť intervencií paliatívnej starostlivosti s časovým odstupom max. 6 mesiacov. Štúdie založené na dôkazoch potvrdili, že prístup paliatívnej starostlivosti v kardiológii môže zmierniť utrpenie a zlepšiť kvalitu života pacientov so srdcovým zlyhaním. záver: Paliatívna starostlivosť je špecializovaná forma medicínskej starostlivosti, ktorá preukázala, že pomáha zlepšovať závažnosť symptómov, uľahčuje diskusie o plánovaní predbežnej starostlivosti v kardiológii a poskytuje podporu pacientom a ich rodinám. kľúčové slová paliatívna starostlivosť, chronické zlyhanie srdca, pacient, kvalita života
INTRODUCTION: The issue of hospitalized patients’ falls in healthcare facilities should be one of the most essential interests of healthcare employees. Monitoring, keeping of records and the assessment of the documentation related to the occurrence of patients’ falls in a healthcare facility helps healthcare employees determine the frequency of falls. Monitoring of extraordinary events helps identify weaknesses in patient care and point out recurring issues, which influence the quality and safety of the provided care. A reduction in the number of falls in every healthcare facility requires a complex approach of healthcare employees, which includes admitting, assessing, and reducing the risks of falls. OBJECTIVES: The aim of this report was to point out the occurrence of hospitalized patients’ falls in a healthcare facility. METHODS: The data collection was done through a survey method (unstandardized survey). The research group was composed of nurses (n=130) providing nursing care to patients in four healthcare facilities in Trebišov, Vranov nad Topľou a Michalovce. The average age of the nurses was 38.7 years old. The results were analyzed through absolute and relative frequency. The Chi-squared test was used as a statistical method. The obtained results were interpreted on the significance level α = 0.05. The sorting criteria included age, type of department, and level of experience. RESULTS: The obtained results point out that nurses use conversation and observation to assess the risk of patients’ falls. In the research sample, falls occur with an increased incidence. There is a statistically significant contrast (p = 0.02) concerning the way in which nurses in each department report falls. CONCLUSION: In the issue of falls, nursing documentation plays a big role because falls are documented as extraordinary events. Based on our results, we suggest using a unified, standardized tool to assess the risk of falls in healthcare facilities, as monitoring extraordinary events can influence the quality and safety of the provided nursing care.
Introduction: The aim of this research is to find coping strategies for dealing with stress among caregivers who look after a chronically ill family member and to assess which of the most common emotions they are experiencing. Methods: We used a standard 28-item questionnaire Brief COPE (Carver, 1997) with Likert scale with values of 6-1 and standardized Variety habitual emotional, subjective well-being in this study (Džuka, Dalbert, 2002). The questionnaire was distributed by nurses who care for ill relatives in the Home Care Agency. We used descriptive statistical methods. Results: Exploratory data includes answers from 30 respondents, who were caregivers of a patient with chronic illness at home. The average age of respondents was 66.3 years + 4,5, ranged between 56 and 71 years old. Concerning the custodies, these were the most often the life partners - husband / wife (63 %). The average length of treatment was half a year - year (27 %). Top active strategies for coping with stress were: planning, instrumental social support, acceptance, religiosity, emotional support, with the average from 4,65 to 4,27. The least used coping strategies were humor and drug use. Respondents experienced more frequent negative than positive emotions - pain with average 4,30, sadness 4,24, fear 4.23,Conclusion: The study shows that the caregivers can select an active strategy to help them overcome difficulties while taking care of the sick. When assessing emotional survival, we found out that respondents had negative emotions.
